Let's Get to Know EV Charger Connectors! 🔌

Curious about the different types of EV charger connectors? Let’s break it down so you can plug in with confidence!

1️⃣ Type 1 Connector (J1772)
Mostly used in North America. This connector is perfect for single-phase charging and is commonly found on older EV models.

2️⃣ Type 2 Connector (Mennekes)
The go-to connector in Europe! Type 2 is versatile, supporting both single-phase and three-phase charging. It’s everywhere - from home chargers to public stations, making it the most common connector type. Plus, it’s the standard for all new European EVs!

3️⃣ CHAdeMO
Mostly found in Japanese electric cars, this connector is designed for DC fast charging, meaning you can power up quickly and get back on the road in no time. Perfect for long trips!

4️⃣ CCS (Combined Charging System)
The all-in-one champion! CCS is a combo connector that can handle both AC and DC charging. It’s becoming the global favorite, with carmakers in Europe and other continents adopting it. CCS2 can support very high power levels for fast DC charging, typically up to 350 kW, depending on the station and the vehicle's capability. This makes it possible to charge an EV to 80% in just 20-30 minutes, ideal for long-distance travel and quick stops.

5️⃣ Tesla Supercharger Connector
Tesla’s own! Exclusive to Tesla vehicles, this connector allows for ultra-fast charging at Tesla Supercharger stations. If you drive a Tesla, this is your ticket to some of the fastest charging speeds available.

6️⃣ GB/T Connector
It’s the standard charging interface used for electric vehicles in China. The GB/T standard encompasses two main types of connectors: one for AC charging and another for DC fast charging, making it a comprehensive solution for EV infrastructure.
