@democracync@NC_Governor I've never seen a winter storm impact 2/3 of the counties in the state, and the only hurricane I remember being that widespread was Hugo if even it made it that far inland.
@grayRanger3 There's a story in the "From a Certain Point of View" anthology for Empire--I believe it's called "The Truest Duty"--and it answers the question of Veers's fate on Hoth.

@realDaphneMoon @AGHamilton29 Consider there's a big gap between $7.50 and $15. Doubling the minimum wage would be a disaster because the economy doesn't respond well to sudden change. Setting a gradual increase over time and then pinning the minimum wage to inflation makes a lot more sense.
@SteeleWars@TheApexFan Thank you!
And likewise the parts of Star Wars we don't like aren't personal attacks against us. They're just story elements that resonate better with someone else, and that's perfectly fine.
@Stephen_Kent89 To be fair, his sect has the same dogma about deathmatches for the sword. He's a child of the Watch after all, and Pre Vizsla was pretty hung up on that sword.
But that's how religious sects always work. Shared dogma is orthodoxy and differences are cultist heresy.
@Andrew_D_Bell @Stephen_Kent89 "Making the galaxy smaller" in the flagship product now often means connections to places that the less-visited corners already made bigger. It brings new characters and stories to the wider audience that just watches the films/shows. It makes their corner bigger.
@Stephen_Kent89 Whenever I see a Mandalorian helmet, beskar or plastoid armor, a dagger-shaped starship, or a lightsaber, nostalgia. Whenever I hear the "scream" of a TIE fighter in deep space, the bleep-beep-bloop of an astromech droid, or the roar of Wookiee, nostalgia again. It's baked in.
@swankmotron@InkyD We basically skipped a generation in the years between RotJ and TFA, so the pilots who came of age in the early New Republic would be a new generation [that we've never seen before]. I try not to read too much into the marketing though. There lies expextation and disappointment.
@rlh@politicalmath I spent about 3 weeks in the hospital in October due to a lymphoma diagnosis, and the no visitors policy made recovery much more difficult. I can't imagine how bad it would have been before mobile phones and video chats, but I'm certain I would've left before I was recovered.
@TheApexFan The problem with Reese's is that not only isn't it peanut butter and not only is that a waxy broken mess of chocolate, they somehow still have the wrong ratio of bad chocolate to non-peanutbutter that it makes both parts somehow worse.
@jarredromanos I'm pretty sure that 99% of what happens in a judiciary committee hearing is nothing more than campaigning on national television for free.
@wrestling_ii@swankmotron The consequence is his slide toward the dark side which causes him to lose everything he cares about and fall into two decades of utter misery.
@DavidAFrench He doesn't have the authority, but he probably does have the power given the immense leverage that the central government has over the states.
