It really is hard to find words right now. So instead we’ll use actions. Here are some of the charities me and the @bookishsonya team have chosen to support.
Thank you, @CARE, @WCKitchen, @chooselove, https://t.co/1Px1HioVef and the many other charities who are helping Ukraine.
Two memoirs I love. @NTrethewey's haunting, delicate and yet unswerving reconstruction of her childhood & the years leading up to her mother’s murder. And @jeffersonmargo's provocative and unforgettable look at race, class, discrimination & privilege in upper crust black Chicago.
🚨GIVEAWAY!🚨 To be in with a chance of winning @alisoneroman’s Nothing Fancy (my favourite), leave a rating & review for #bookishwithsonya wherever you listen.
Send us screenshot evidence and we will enter you into the prize draw.
Winner announced on Fri 25th Feb. Good luck!
I first read Anna Karenina in my 20s and reread it again after discussed it with @iammireilleenos in Season 1 of @bookishsonya. I don’t think I would have picked it up again in such a rush if I hadn’t become obsessed by the idea or rereading - a result of creating this podcast.
Anna Karenina is one of the most popular books in #bookishwithsonya history. It was chosen by @iammireilleenos, @Darinstrauss and @rorystewartuk, and also received honourable mentions by John Burnham Schwartz, Nancy Baker Cahill and Emily Mortimer.
Have you read this classic?
I’m hopeless at arranging my books. I have cookbooks next to novels next to the beautiful 13 volume OED. I keep vowing to rearrange my books but it seems an impossible task. Until then, I love knowing that Truman Capote sits just above the Zuni Cafe cookbook. #LibraryShelfieDay
On @householdfaces, @sonyawalger discusses all of that plus Lost, For All Mankind, Mind of a Married Man, dramatics at Oxford, sex scenes on screen, and going back to the island.

Please enjoy this surprise episode featuring wonderful actor, director, musician, and my friend, John Simm.
We met on set of The Catch and I knew I loved him very early on because he arrived on set with a book.

Loved having my dear friend Dan Houser on @bookishwithsonya.
It was such a privilege to gain some fascinating insight into how Dan's favourite literature helped shape some of the fantasy worlds he has created.

Sorted out the kids bookshelves - alllll get donated to their school. They’re real readers now, onto chapter books and graphic novels, so we're making space. Heartbreaking to let go of some that we’ve read for years, but the kids will still get to see them in the school library!
I absolutely loved chatting with @AimeeMullins about all things reading, writing and our shared love of George Saunders. Thanks again for coming to talk to me, Aimee. #bookishwithsonya
My guest this week is American athlete, actress, model, and public speaker, @aimeemullins. Aimee is also an avid reader with impeccable taste.
Don’t miss this episode of #bookishwithsonya!

Like @kristatippett, this is a favourite of mine. I first read it when I moved to LA in my early 20s. I was hit by a huge culture shock and felt more lonely than I ever imagined possible, but @AniPemaChodron's When Things Fall Apart became a close companion and source of comfort.
@kristatippett talks here about @AniPemaChodron’s When Things Fall Apart: Heart Advice for Difficult Times.
Krista has multiple copies spread throughout her house so it’s always within reach for times when she feels out of control or needs some reassurance.
