I’m pro documenting tings. I’m against the idea that if I step into a venue (or now just go outside) I’m opted into being someone’s content in perpetuity. I’m against randoms filming people they don’t know and posting them to humiliate. I hate having to accommodate someone wanting to ‘get their shot’ while I perform. I hate watching artists and seeing 6 camera people on stage moving around them. I hate being on slide 17 of a festivals carousel on Instagram enjoying a moment of peace photographed without my consent. Written and oral story telling can do so many things images can’t, especially now we are swamped with them. Please use these devices more.
Samson A.K follows tapes for Berceuse Heroique and MAL with a strong new one via his freshly minted Ideal State label - big if you’re into British Murder Boys x Lost Domain x Nkisi 🔥

Here’s a thread about Sasha (@sashaofficial), perhaps the most influential British DJ of the 1990s.
So what made him so special? It’s time for a deep dive into the DJ we called “The Man Like”.
dj tip: when u first start getting booked for festivals. you will often not be making much money. probably even losing some. just for a chance to even be there. very discouraging. which is why its so so important. to be out in the crowd. stealing phones
New from Berceuse Heroique: Death Ambient from Samson A.K, highly recommended if yr feeling that Thomas Köner murk, or if you’ve ever zoned into Lawrence English’s field recordings from Antarctica... 🔥

I want people to really consume these videos and then interrogate….really understand HOW some of us Black and brown boys and men navigated this country over the years. Always on “high alert” ….what that does to your internal system.
What it does to your health?
Whats done in the dark, will always come to light. The industry’s worst kept secret. So many creeps and abusers out there, it’s scary. Thank you, to those who came forward, I wish u strength, protection and healing. I am deeply disturbed after reading the article. Vile!
Jon K & Elle Andrews grip Samson A.K. for the first MAL mixtape - a cut ’n paste hour of screwed downbeats, grotty jazzx ruder club thrust, mostly built from his own productions with skits, on a tip somewhere between classic Disengage x Blue Jam
