Influence on the Moon won't be measured in flags, but in whose interfaces everything else has to plug into.
120V vs 300V DC. No lunar GPS. No shared timing reference.

Four years from now, what should success look like for the Space Force?
General Douglas Schiess, Chief of Space Operations for the U.S. Space Force says it means a force twice as large, with the people and capabilities needed to protect the nation’s interests in and from space.
May 2022: a Russian satellite launches into an orbit similar to a US military satellite.
Nearly three years: it stays with it.
June 2025: it releases a sub-satellite.
Nobody lost this object. That is the point.
Tony Frazier, SFA's America 250 Magazine:
Growing the Space Force doesn’t mean lowering the bar. Gen. Douglas Schiess explains that Guardians still need to meet military standards, bring the right technical skills, and demonstrate the character and values required to serve.
We are proud to announce our title sponsorship of @SpaceForceAssoc's #SPC2026.

Congratulations to Lt. Gen. David Miller on his nomination to lead U.S. Space Command. He's worked each step between the Space Force and the joint fight: requirements, the forces the service provides, and SPACECOM operations.
According to Gen. Schiess, CSO, USSF, China and Russia are putting capabilities into orbit that can put the joint force at risk. Space capabilities support the joint force every day, and keeping them secure matters. Watch the full conversation of the National Spacepower Review.

GPS directions, delivery apps, and everyday transactions can depend on capabilities from space. Gen. Douglas Schiess, Chief of Space Operations, explains why safeguarding the space domain matters not only to military operations, but also to services people use in daily life.

In 1926 the entire US rocket program was a steel frame in a field. Goddard logged "the first flight with a rocket using liquid propellants" at his aunt's farm.
Nearly 25,000 satellites later. Over half since 2022.
