I was threatened with being debanked recently. Despite being a Limited Company and paying all my taxes it seems that my bank (and many, many others) just do not want to be associated with anyone working in the sex industry. I managed to hang onto my account by the skin of my teeth but it became apparent that I couldn’t have any payments from platforms paid into it anymore. This was SCARY!

I changed payments to my personal account while I could get this resolved. It wasn’t easy but I am pleased to be able to say that I now have a legitimate Business account with a bank that is totally aware of my line of work and happy to take the payments.

It’s been a very stressful few weeks which I wouldn’t wish on anyone and I’d suggest to everyone to try and get an account that allows our types of payments before your bank decides to withhold payments and de bank you.
