Il est encore très jeune et, évidemment, il est arrivé à la Coupe du monde après une blessure. Il n’avait pas joué pendant environ huit semaines. C’est très difficile quand on reste huit semaines sans jouer et qu’on doit ensuite enchaîner directement avec une Coupe du monde. Il n’y a pratiquement pas de temps pour s’entraîner : on passe simplement d’un match à l’autre.

Malgré cela, il a montré de très belles qualités. Je pense que c’est avant tout le collectif espagnol qui l’a aidé, et Lamine a lui aussi beaucoup apporté à l’équipe. Cette complémentarité a été parfaite.

Je suis très heureux d’avoir pu regarder une finale avec autant de coéquipiers et d’anciens coéquipiers, qui restent avant tout des amis. »
