Dual-coastal curator-driven art fair but like a museum but like a party but like an art fair //♟️🗃️🧭🪽’HIDE N SEEK’ — SEPT 23 - 28 @ambrekelly @goristories
So excited to be in the company of these amazing artists, in this fantastic curatorial effort by Natalie White (@marchforERA) and @ Paige Beeber. Check out the show @SPRINGBREAKshow!
"If we want to oppose this new fascist strain, we really have to get a move on. 'I don’t tend to use this language, I try to be measured, but I think I’ve earned the right to escalate,' she says. 'The moment we’re in, people are really mad and however mad you are, it’s not enough.
Because there is something so profound about no longer believing in the future, about seeing no value in our shared home, in the natural world. They’re traitors to creation.' https://t.co/T3lT9Q0CUI
.@SPRINGBREAKshow May Be a Little Older, but It Still Parties On. The show that started as a messy upstart sibling to the traditional fairs has grown up a bit, though it’s still packed with zany charms. By Jillian Steinhauer https://t.co/cUiZdSjo5z
🙏Big thanks @artnewspaper for charting the perponderance of examples throughout the fair of 🐈🐕🦺🐿️🐉 what may be found left behind in a ‘paradise lost’—

🎀 The Hottest Flame is a Ribbon is the first presentation of AI-generated art in the history of @SPRINGBREAKshow.
🔥 This fact only dawned on me yesterday as I was speaking with visitors about the work, nearly all of whom were completely unfamiliar with my text-to-image or @LeahSchrager’s image-to-image practice. "I had no idea AI art could look like this," was something we repeatedly heard.
🪽I guess if you’re reading this, let it serve as a reminder that if you are making art with AI, you are part of a moment of creative innovators—make sure you share it with folks outside our space.
🗽It’s my last day in NYC and the last day I’ll be at our booth, B4, if you’re planning to stop by!
As always @sarahecascone with @artnet delivers an oh-so-comprehensive look around the fair, with a memorable roundup of favorites—thank you, Sarah for excavating also some of those hidden gems:

🏁Thanks @sarahecascone and @artnet for sharing our reasons behind taking a breather during this LA Arts Week; it was a tough decision to make, but we think the right one for our participants & initiative: https://t.co/vChJ3Oh2cY
