Our Year 12 students recently participated in our Life Skills Day, where students completed workshops on various different skills needed for adult life, such as cooking, budgeting and domestic skills.

We were delighted to host the @BishopBewick Applying to Medicine and Dentistry Conference last week for Year 12 students. The day included students completing workshops on the UCAT and MMI. Whilst, we also heard from guest speakers such our keynote speaker, Judit Llevadias, Lead Paediatic Consultant, and Alex Rushworth, a Clinical Trainer in Child Dental Health at @UniofNewcastle
Earlier this week, we held our Sixth Form Transition Day where prospective students were able to get a taste of Sixth Form life and the subjects they will do at Key Stage 5.
Our Year 13 Prom took place last week at the Vermont Hotel. It was fantastic to celebrate our student's journey with us and we wish them the best in all that they do in the future.

Our Year 12 Biology and Chemistry students recently travelled to Keswick for a field trip, where they carried out practical investigations linked to their A-Level studies.
It was fantastic to see students applying their learning outside the classroom and enjoying the chance to experience their subjects in a hands-on way.
Our Year 12 Psychology students got hands-on in class, creating brilliant model brains to help deepen their understanding of key structures and functions. It was great to see the creativity and teamwork on show — a fantastic way to bring learning to life!
Congratulations to our former student, Niamh, who has signed a professional contract with Sunderland AFC. This is a fantastic achievement and a real testament to Niamh's hard work, dedication and determination over many years. We are incredibly proud and wish her every success next season and beyond.

Our students in Year 12 were able to visit the campus of @NorthumbriaUni recently. Students took part in a campus tour, were able to ask questions to current students of the university and received an information session looking at student life in Newcastle.

We were delighted to welcome @sheffielduni into the Sixth Form to speak to our Year 12 students about the personal statement and how to write a strong application to university.
We were delighted to recently hold our annual Careers Fair in school. With over 35 employers, colleges and apprenticeship providers, students got a real taste of the pathways available after school. It was also fantastic to welcome so many former students back and to see them flourishing in life beyond St Mary’s.
We were delighted to welcome in ambassadors from @JesusCollegeCam at the University of Cambridge into the school to speak to our students in Year 10 about studying at the university. This included, one of our former students, Sonny, who is currently reading Philosophy.
We recently held our annual Culture Day with over 27 countries being represented including the UK, Ireland, India, Nigeria, Poland and Italy. Our students really enjoyed the event; learning about different cultures from across the world, whilst also raising money for CAFOD.
