Stamford's #MemorialDay had a wonderful turnout. Today is an important day for us to reflect on the members of our community who chose to serve our country and paid the ultimate price for that service. I am encouraged by the turnout for this year's ceremony, lest we forget.
Today we broke ground at The Smyth — a planned 414-unit apartment building where St John's Tower stood. More indication of Stamford's continued economic vitality and prosperous future.
Today's the 125th anniversary of the Stamford Police Department and it's only fitting we cut the ribbon for the new headquarters. Our Police have needed improvements to their headquarters for some time and I'm proud my administration could see this project through to completion.
Myself and others from the Saint Joseph Parenting Center spoke in the Stamford Government Center today for Child Abuse Prevention month. Stamford is fortunate to have organizations in our community dedicated to this issue.
“A person's a person, no matter how small.” I had a wonderful time seeing Northeast Elementary’s performance of Seussical the Musical this morning. @SPSSuper
Today, I raised New Zealand's flag as a message of solidarity with the country after the tragic Mosque shooting that took place in Christchurch last week. I'll be speaking at a rally hosted at the Islamic Cultural Center later today.
We're thrilled the @WWE has signed a 16-year lease to move to Stamford's downtown. Our City has worked with the WWE for decades and we're happy they've chosen to continue investing in Stamford's future.
@WWEPR
Happy to host @GovNedLamont in Stamford today as he visited the bridge replacement at Route 1 and I-95. Stamford would greatly benefit from coordinating with the state and funding transportation projects like the one we were at today.
The PD is extremely proud of our Officers in supporting our Coat Drive. The PD in conjunction with the Stamford Police Association collected over 100 coats in 4 weeks! The coats were donated to Person-to-Person, New Covenant Center, and other local organizations in need.
Really enjoyed reading Green Eggs & Ham to Toquam's kindergartners today for Read Across America! Great event and opportunity to get kids and adults reading.
