There are cooler things to experience than being at a host nation's World Cup opener when they score their first goal.
There aren't very many, though.

The Yankees franchise was the Baltimore Orioles in 1901-02. The current Baltimore Orioles were indeed the Milwaukee Brewers for a season, then moved to St. Louis as the Browns. The current Brewers started as the Seattle Pilots.
And we haven't even gotten started on the NHL...
The list doesn't match the graphic, and they are both wrong. The oldest professional sports team was the Cincinnati Red Stockings in 1869. Most of those players formed the Boston Red Stockings in 1871.
So, depending how you count it, either the Reds are #1 or the Braves are #1.

I'm phobic about medical procedures, so getting a colonoscopy done was terrifying. But I didn't run, and they found some polyps, so it was a very good thing that I did it.
Thank you, Jamie and Christy. You're the reason I went through with it.
Statistic that doesn't sound real:
The Tigers have played 67 games this season. In those games, Colt Keith has 193 plate appearances. Corbin Carroll has 13.
They both have seven RBIs.
Q: Which media members get free rides on the team plane? A: The ones who work for the team.
As for making this the storyline, are you saying you haven't seen stories about the need to trade Skubal and Larkin?
And what does saying "enough is enough" accomplish?
Chris Illitch is on the verge of losing Skubal AND Larkin in the same year. Let that sink in.
The media in Detroit is totally spineless and instead of making this the storyline and finally saying enough is enough they will continue to ignore it because he gives them free little caesars after games and a ride on the team plane. It’s pathetic
Neither team is in a position to contend for a championship. This will cause them to take yet another step back from that goal, so they need to be smart about the return they get.
Each team is going to lose one of the faces of the franchise, but need to create an opportunity. They each rebuilt around deep farm systems that haven't paid off as expected. These trades - Skubal much more than Larkin - will give them a chance to get some fresh blood.
PWHL Detroit also signed Canadian Olympian Daryl Watts, a winger that has scored 32 goals in 81 games over the past three PWHL seasons. She also had eight points (two goals, six assists) in seven Olympic games.
D Kayla Barnes had 8 points (three goals, five assists) in 30 games. also for Seattle. She also went on to Olympic gold.
They have played together for years, moving from BC to Ohio State. They were apart for one year in the PWHL, then moved to Seattle and now Detroit.
F Hannah Bilka had nine points (four goals, five assists) in 14 games for the Seattle Torrent last season. She also had seven points (four goals, three assists) while winning Olympic gold with USA.
