This afternoon, I received the outgoing High Commissioner of India to Uganda, H.E. Upender Singh Rawat, at State House Entebbe.
We discussed strengthening Uganda-India cooperation in science, technology and digital transformation, including the National Payment Switch and technology transfer. I was also pleased with the progress of the National Forensic Sciences University in Jinja, established through our cooperation with India.
I wish him well as he concludes his tour of duty and thank him for his contribution to strengthening the friendship between Uganda and India.

President @KagutaMuseveni did the groundbreaking of the Kampala Storage Terminal in Mpigi District. The Terminal will increase the country's petroleum storage capacity by 320 million litres and strengthen the security of supply and distribution infrastructure. It will be a central hub to receive both imported and locally refined petroleum products.

President @KagutaMuseveni met yesterday with the Turkish Ambassador to Uganda, H.E. Mehmet Fatih Ak, on the sidelines of the groundbreaking ceremony for the Kampala Storage Terminal in Mpigi District. They discussed matters of bilateral interest.

I thank the people of Mpigi for protecting the ekifunjo (papyrus swamp). This is how God made Uganda, and we should keep it that way. We must also find better ways of managing waste, including incineration, which can generate electricity.

When we took over Government in 1986, we entrusted administration to technocrats. However, it took a Kenyan Senator to alert me that Uganda was buying petroleum products through middlemen in Kenya. Unbelievable! After intervention, Diesel has come down from USD118 to USD83 per metric tonne, Petrol from USD97.5 to USD61.5 and Aviation fuel from USD114.25 to USD79.25.

Today, I broke ground for the 320-million-litre Kampala Storage Terminal in Mpigi. As we develop our petroleum resources, we must strengthen our strategic reserves. I am also happy that H.E. Samia Suluhu Hassan sent a delegation as we work with Tanzania and the rest of East Africa to strengthen our petroleum security.

President @KagutaMuseveni commissioned new accommodation facilities for personnel of the Special Forces Command (SFC) at Nakasero in efforts to improve the welfare, discipline and operational readiness of Uganda’s armed forces.

President @KagutaMuseveni has this morning officiated the groundbreaking of the Kampala Storage Terminal (KST) in Namwabula, Mpigi District.

The facility will store up to 320 million litres of petroleum products, boosting Uganda’s fuel storage and supply capacity.

Wholly owned and operated by @UNOC_UG, the terminal is a vital addition to Uganda’s petroleum value chain.

President @KagutaMuseveni paid tribute to the late Rt. Hon. Gen. Moses Ali in Adjumani today, laying a wreath and meeting with his family to offer condolences.

Gen. Moses Ali led a long, distinguished life of service to Uganda in both military and public roles.

May his soul rest in peace.

It was with a lot of sadness, that I received the bad news of the death of your dear husband, Mr. Hafidh Hassan.

I extend the most heart-felt condolences from the brother People of Uganda and from my family and myself, to your Excellency, your family and the People of Tanzania.

Eversince I started knowing you as Vice-President of the United Republic of Tanzania and now as President, I have witnessed your love for your country and Africa and your dedication.

We have done a lot together in the areas of trade, the East African Oil Pipeline, the Murongo-Kyikagate mini-hydro station, the tarmac roads on the side of Tanzania, the transmission-line from Masaka-Bukoba, the SGR to Isaka and, eventually, to Uganda and beyond, to mention just some.

The dedication you show must have been supported by your dear husband and family. I have met your son, Mr. Abdul, a few times.

It must, therefore, be a great loss to you. I pray that the Almighty God sees you through these dark days. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

President @KagutaMuseveni paid his final respects to His Majesty Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV and laid a wreath in his honour, in the presence of members of the Royal Family, officials from Tooro Kingdom and Government.

The aircraft carrying the remains of His Majesty Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV arrived at Entebbe International Airport.

The casket, draped in the national colours of Uganda and the colours of Tooro Kingdom, was accorded a Guard of Honour mounted by the Uganda Police.

President @KagutaMuseveni officially unveils “Pearl Sweet” as the name of Uganda’s crude oil at the Kingfisher Oilfield in Buhuka, Kikuube District, as the country moves closer to first oil production.

The event brings together key stakeholders in Uganda’s oil and gas sector, including the JV partners, government officials, and representatives of the People’s Republic of China.

The milestone marks a significant step in the development of Uganda’s oil resources as the country prepares for first oil production later this year.

President @KagutaMuseveni has arrived at the Kingfisher Development Area in Kikuube District, where he has inspected the Kingfisher Central Processing Facility (CPF).

The President will later preside over the Crude Oil Naming Ceremony, during which he will unveil the name of Uganda’s crude oil.

The five-day convention, which began on Wednesday, has featured prayer and worship, Bible exposition, preaching, music and choir sessions, testimonies, and teachings on revival, Christian marriage, Christ above modernity, the oneness of believers, and Christian parenting.

The celebrations are being held under the theme, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever" (Hebrews 13:8).

Today, Sunday, 30 August 2026, marks the culmination of the celebrations with a Sunday Thanksgiving Service that will gather believers from across Ankole and beyond to celebrate 90 years of the East African Revival.
