As someone who decided to step away from a 25 year career in live TV to speak out against Trump & what I saw working on ‘CA’ I find this moment especially chilling. DO NOT give the man a pass on anything. He is a sexual predator, a mob money launder, a treasonous, impeached corrupt former POTUS who stole classified documents & attempted a violent insurrection. His followers are but pawns to him. His children lack any ethics in biz or politics. They’re a family of delusional grifters led by a mentally deranged sociopathic drug addict. Full f’n Stop. Vote Blue.
This is a level of journalistic malpractice so staggering that it seriously borders on a psy op @nytimes.
ONE HUNDRED AND NINETY TWO STORIES ON BIDEN’S DEBATE PERFORMANCE/BASELESS SPECULATION ABOUT HIM DROPPING OUT (compared to just 67 on Trump and 29 on SCOTUS)
I’m speechless
@moorehn Heidi, may I add to your perceptive takedown: one cannot “dine” at the absolutely-not-Michelin-starred Cafe de Flore because it’s pretty much a place to get a lousy & expensive croque monsieur/madame and a mediocre café au lait. It’s more of a diner situation than a dining one.
Childfree women easily identify with the mother archetype though they, themselves, are other-than-mother.
Mother’s Day may often feel alienating to those who have chosen to remain childfree as well as to those who have not been able to reproduce.

Mother’s Day may often feel alienating to the childfree.
However, rarely does “childfree” manifest as “not maternal” or “not nurturing”: childfree women often provide support and sustenance to mothers, whether those mothers are their friends, colleagues, and/or family members.
@HiddenPond Photo two is the four of us—Mom, Genevieve, me, and my sister, Nancy—in one of the private dining “sheds.”
Photo three, of Nancy and Genevieve, was taken at Le Voltaire, a favorite restaurant in Paris, early in 2020.
I have so much respect and regard for mothers, my own included. My sister, Nancy, who is also my best friend, is mother to my one and only niece, Genevieve, now 14 years old. Genevieve has been a source of immense love and inspiration in my life. I mother her, she daughters me.
I’m pictured here, first, with my Mom, at one of our favourite places for a quick gals-getaway: Hidden Pond Resort @hiddenpond in Kennebunkport, Maine.
Peek through my “Peerage” pages on the https://t.co/dK6yNvjrtI website, where you’ll find an archive of notable childfree women. Navigate to Peerage.
Mirren, a beloved Actress, spoke openly about her decision to not have children, emphasizing that she has never experienced any regret regarding this choice.
“I kept thinking it would be, waiting for it to happen, but it never did, and I didn’t care what people thought.”
Nicks, whose musical repertoire resonates deeply in the hearts of many, opted to not have children because she wanted to focus on and "nurture" her career. Without her so-called "sacrifice" we likely would not have the nurturing gift of her mystical music

I find this quote from Carl Jung striking in how deeply it connects to the cultivation of personal well-being. Fear, a primary and primal emotion, is to be embraced, understood, negotiated (within) and overcome.

"The spirit of evil is the negation of the life force by fear. Only boldness can deliver us from fear. If the risk is not taken, the meaning of life is violated."
— C.G. Jung, from "Symbols of Transformation."
"No Mud, No Lotus" - Thich Nhat Hanh.
To live well requires the acknowledgement and transformation of pain—not running away from pain, and not getting mired in “suffering.” The Buddhists say: “Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional.”
