This is the final vote on the ASIO Bill. Labor and the Coalition in lock step. We WILL remember this at the next election.

The Greens opposed these laws in EVERY vote. Barnaby Joyce voted for this but in the Senate One Nation was dragged to vote against after community pressure.

We heard the Gorgon extension could hand Chevron an estimated $337 billion worth of Australian gas royalty-free over 30 years.

Once again, Labor and their corporate party mates have teamed up to block a minimum 25% gas export tax.

While Australians struggle with the cost of living, gas giants are raking in billions in war-driven windfall profits.

Labor has made a commitment to a fairer return from our resources. Seven in ten Australians support a gas export tax.

And yet, when it came time to vote, Labor chose to side with the gas lobby. They had a choice. They made it.

These multinational gas corporations like Inpex and Santos are proving time and again that they'll put profits ahead of people, local communities and the environment. All the while, they're making billions from Australia's gas and paying next to nothing in tax.

The news that charges will be sought against Inpex for under-reporting its toxic emissions is yet more evidence that these multinational gas corporations will always put profits before people and planet.

Inpex released thousands of tonnes of toxic chemicals like benzene and toluene into the Northern Territory, and underreported these emissions to the territory's EPA for five years.

Education should be universally available, high quality and free from early years through to TAFE & Uni. Families and kids deserve so much better than the profit-driven model that successive governments have overseen. Time for an overhaul. Time to boot out the corporate parties.
