The social care sector is indispensable to the UK economy.
Every £100 spent on social care reduces NHS spending by £35.
The sector contributes around £68.1bn annually to the economy.
Every £1 invested in social care brings £2.36 in socioeconomic benefits.

I'm chuffed to have been nominated for the Social Care Top 30 @CareTalkMag award. It's humbling and very much a nomination on behalf of everyone that's trying to do the right thing by social care. If you like (or not) anything I've said, please give a vote for me and @Hftonline
We’re delighted our CEO, Steve Veevers, is a finalist in the Social Care Top 30 awards! 🥳 Steve is our winner but for the official win in ‘Recognising Influential Leaders in Social Care’ award we need to vote.

‘Plans for plans’ and red herrings: how the two main parties will try to avoid talking #socialcare during the election campaign - and what we can do about it. https://t.co/8VFEZw8oVW
@blimeysimon Thank you Simon for a great piece. Another thing is building momentum. I’m telling every person I know to ask each and every prospective candidate they come across, whatever colour they are, to ask about social care. If enough people ask it can be an election topic.
🗳️ Your #Vote matters!
✅ It is important to remember that people with a learning disability and autistic people have the same right to vote as anyone else.

👀 When we launched our long-term strategy and fresh new look yesterday, you may have spotted our new strap line: 'Learning disability allies'
🤔 But what is an 'ally'?

@blimeysimon@skillsforcare The question on who pays is an interesting one @blimeysimon as NLW increase from last year is 9.8%, the gov settlement for LA’s was about 7.5% and at the moment, for my organisation which contracts with 114 LA’s and ICB’s is being offered just over 4.5% uplift. Some offering 0%!
Today's Budget completely ignores our broken social care system that is leaving hundreds of thousands of people, including many with a learning disability, struggling without the care they need.
