However if Council fail to fix it, then what's the point of Yarra Council, we might as well merge with Melbourne Council who at least provide some of these services.
Hopefully it doesn't come to that and we rise to the challenge.

(1/3) Last night Yarra Council heard it subsidised two massive private e-scooter companies by $580,000 of rate payers money last year.
To rake this money back, we raised the daily fee they pay Council from $1 to $5.

(2/3) Later I pointed out that 40% of all homes (public and private apartments) don't get parking permits or council waste service.
This figure is growing rapidly as more units are built and soon over half of locals won't receive the most basic of services despite paying rates.

Held a ward meeting at Fitzroy Town Hall tonight. Loads of locals attended and they had heaps of ideas for this new Council.
There will huge community involvement in the upcoming budget - the most important budget in the history of Yarra.

(1/3) This morning media reports that the biggest employer in North Richmond - Gambling and Casino Control Commission - has just decided to pull their 200 staff and re-locate to the city centre.
This is because too many of their workers have been bashed or harassed in the area.

(1/6) Last night we had the first Yarra Council meeting of 2025. We continued to keep our foot on the pedal.
* We overturned an officer recommendation (scandalously supported by the 2 remaining Greens) to jack-up fees for sports clubs.

(5/6) This year their funding will increase by 3.5%. The Houses waged a huge campaign for this support and were stoked with the vote last night.
* We set up a working committee for dog owners and sports clubs who share Citizens Park to work through the issues.
