When legislatures swing the pendulum too far away from meaningful consequences for serious juvenile crime, more young victims suffer. While detention isn’t the answer for all juvenile crime, taking it completely off the table for the most antisocial acts is dangerous.
My latest—this time for the @nypost—offers some thoughts about NYC’s persistent youth crime problem, which has stubbornly resisted the city’s broader trend of declining crime.

@JasGregory@WalshFreedom You both could be right. Time will tell. It depends on how the rest of the year plays out. While there are some key distinctions, there are some interesting similarities to 1968, which culminated in the victory of Richard Nixon.
@KyWhitney Most Ivy Leaguers have long existed separate from the real world. Business leaders should be aware of this when hiring. If it is a position where understanding the real world is important, look to a well-qualified state school grad who worked their way through school.
