@SharpFootball Love this data analysis. One suggestion. Adjust value to reflect consensus pick value of 250 picked at 270 not counted same as a one at 50 picked at 70. Think that will better reflect relative values
In football the analytics of going on 4th and 1 are skewed by the coaches in the past deciding when it made sense to go on 4th and 1..leading to a higher success rate. The analytic is hard on coaches deciding when to go
@grantpaulsen There is a famous analytic that showed that left handed people died earlier. It was considered truth for years until someone dug deeper and understood that years ago lefties were forced to be right handed. This skewed the data causing the analytic to be incorrect
@grantpaulsen …by the speed of the wind, by if the QB missed in the last three throws, whether it is raining, what yard line you are on, etc….
Specifically I challenge your assumption to go on 4th and 1 everywhere in the field. That isn’t analytics, that is a hunch. Not…
@grantpaulsen just heard Take Command on Analytics. My job has been analytics for 40+ years and I feel you are oversimplifying. Of course Data and Statistics are valuable but you no analytic takes into account all variables. As examples, do they break down going on 4th and 1..
@kevinsheehanDC@team980 I was disappointed in your take on your podcast. I think it is more likely the team and Terry agreed he should not be there to avoid the “pay Terry” chants the whole 2nd Half
@kevinsheehanDC Terry…if he doesn’t have a new contract wouldn’t it be appropriate for Terry NOT to play thru injuries…he needs to protect his future. A slight hamstring pull must be rested. That will hurt the team
@BasedMikeLee Congress didn’t pass a law halting payments. The president decided he had the power to he doesn’t. Congress DOES..and I think you actually understand that, so maybe correct your post?
