In the four biggest sports Kentucky’s SEC records left a little to be desired.
Football: 2-6
Basketball: 10-8 (2-1)
WBB: 8-8 (2-1)
Baseball 13-17 (0-1)
Final record: 33-39 (4-3 in Tournaments)
@Jared_Carrabis No offense to the chad Sox but I can’t look at his face anymore. The camera just panning over there and him looking confused why would they think taking a AAA manager to replace Cora would be a smart productive move? Sell everyone worth anything
Jeff Bezos, who paid $10 million for the Met Gala, got $62 billion richer since Trump was elected & spent $500 million on a yacht to sail to his $55 million wedding in Venice to give his wife a $5 million ring because his tax rate is less than 1%.
4 words: Tax the damn rich.
The hefty lefty, Jared Lorenzen was one of Kentucky most exciting players ever. He was a 4 year starter at Kentucky and threw for 10,354 yards and 78 touchdowns.
Objectively, on paper, Kentucky has a bottom 5 roster in the SEC right now and it’s about to be May.
Is there time? Sure, stunners with some of the cuspy draft guys could be pulled off.
But it’s going to take that, “stunners” for this roster to be good enough to be good enough.
That was maybe the biggest issue for me at Kentucky.
Should have had a GM plan with two people working together solely on portal plan since November.
One does initial evals and other works on relationships with all the agents.
And just to bottom-line it: Kentucky is not comporting itself as a top program in college basketball under Pope.
It just isn’t. Zero lottery pick-level high school recruits signed, one top-15 transfer (with a torn ACL) signed in three cycles.
@MattSakR2NG Bro no offense but your “depth” pieces can’t play here if we are a serious program. We have lowered our standards so far it’s embarrassing
No part of Pope has come off as knowing what he’s doing. There’s nothing you can fall back on and say “in ____ area he’s got it figured out”…
What the new athletic director REALLY thinks of Pope will be fascinating.
