The older I get as a coach, the more I realize most of us are looking for answers in the wrong places. In reality, most games are won by the teams that block & tackle better, communicate better, & make fewer mistakes in all 3 phases. Ive easily spent 1000’s of hours studying football, & the answer always comes back to doing the simple things at an elite level
🚨 We have partnered with K12 Licensing to bring real U.S. high schools into Varsity — the first-ever high school football video game. 🏈
That means authentic school brands, logos, and uniforms in a true Friday-night experience (no player likenesses), over 400 schools have committed with more schools being added ahead of launch on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.

If you saw Basketball at FAU before this man took them to a Final Four, all of this success shouldn’t surprise you
He is ELITE - Better than most are giving him credit for right now
You can play at a slowish tempo and still have a "transition offense."
It's just an organized way to flow into offense from defense. You can do that at 55mph or 155mph.
People don’t understand this…
I played Linebacker.
And it’s been 20 years since I made a tackle.
I can still shoot a basketball…
Or toss a football.
But I’ll never meet a RB in the B Gap ever again.
If you’re still playing, enjoy every minute.
Once it’s over. It’s over.
Zone at youth level is about an adult’s decision to get a cheap win instead of the kids’ development.
What is this teaching? Laziness, standing and watching, poor communication, and zero accountability.
Teach habits.
Zone at this level is FOOLS GOLD!
There used to be a time when the local paper had every single high school call in their scores with complete box scores for every team. Those times were glorious.
Now you can't even find final scores and have no idea who the best scorers are if you're not all the way plugged in
High school basketball isn’t won on game day—it’s won in practice, in effort, and in attitude.
Your roster of talent matters less...
than your culture of accountability and your willingness to compete.
Gregg Popovich said, “It’s your job to make me play you.”
Playing time is earned.
A victim mindset says…I didn’t play because coach doesn’t like me.
A winning mindset says…I didn’t play because I haven’t earned it yet.
Don’t be a victim.

My family and friends cried after this play and celebrated like never before. One of the most special moments for me as a Bengals fan - ever! I was so happy for this city, team and fan base!

Athlete: Coach… I think I want to quit.
Coach: Okay. Then let’s talk about why.
Athlete: I’m tired. All the early mornings, the pain, the pressure. Sometimes I wake up and wonder what I’m even doing this for.
Coach: That’s not quitting. That’s being human. Doubt shows up when you’re close to something that matters.
Athlete: But I’m not even sure I’m good enough. I look around and see people stronger, faster… happier.
Coach: Comparison is a liar. It shows you everyone’s surface but hides their struggle. You don’t need to be better than them. You need to be better than yesterday.
Athlete: What if I never win? What if I give everything and still fall short?
Coach: Then you’ll walk away with something most never touch—truth. The kind you only find when you’ve emptied yourself for something bigger than comfort.
Athlete: So… you think I should keep going?
Coach: I think you already know the answer. You wouldn’t be having this conversation if you truly wanted to stop. You just want someone to remind you that it’s worth it.
Athlete: It hurts, Coach. Some days, it really hurts.
Coach: Good. That means you care. And nothing worth having comes without pain. Now breathe. You’ve made it through every hard day so far.
Most quit before the breakthrough!
Don’t be like most!

From ESPN Research: the Colts are the first team in the Super Bowl era to at one point be 6 games over .500, and then end the season with a losing record.
