Nadav, who is a leftist pro-Palestinian activist, is escorting an Israel-hating congressman who’s there solely as a publicity stunt and trespassing in a security zone. The young IDF woman is simply telling him to wait for the police authorities, and in turn he lies and tells her he’s already spoken to the police and the embassy and they should allow him and Khanna to pass. She wisely demurs. It’s not remotely a detention; it’s a roadblock in a high risk security area. Pure theater.
