I understand this is only an addition to the current number of foreign centres operated by JAMB.
However, the real question should be, 'does the the demand justify the investment involved in creation and management of these foreign centres?'
For Nigerians in Canada, the UTME is coming closer to home. 🇳🇬🇨🇦
JAMB is working towards establishing a UTME centre in Ottawa, Canada, expected to commence operations in 2027.
The proposed centre will make it easier for eligible Nigerians in Canada and across North America to sit for the UTME without travelling to Nigeria solely for the examination.
It also represents a bigger opportunity to strengthen the connection between Nigerians in the diaspora and Nigerian tertiary education.
More access. Fewer barriers. Closer to home.

@kenkenlewu It's easier to help family back home when you're single and do not have serious responsibility of your own.
It's difficult when a wife and then the kids arrive. I understand your brother wants to start his family early but I hope her reconsiders and truly remember his beginning.
@Suqlsguzskjw@lifeofkwbz Funny how you lots think every immigrant are low skilled.
Money was gotten through legimate means, working with skills and talent through self funded and not government handouts. CV was excellent with years of experience and personal development. Stop the hate!
@Suqlsguzskjw@lifeofkwbz Doing well means paying tens of thousands as tax annually as an immigrant and still genuinely afford to celebrate wins like this without recourse to any form of public fund.
@iSlimfit My car has tens of marks due to tight car parks and people unable to open their doors without hitting the other except they are extra cautious.
Five days into my next undercover investigation, set to be released by @fijnigeria later this week, I sent the picture in Frame 1 to my three-man backroom team. They all laughed at me, one of them remarking I looked “like a fisherman”.
The pictures in frames 2 and 3 are from my 44th day on the field. Nobody was in ebullient mood this time. They all screamed instead. None of them could say it, but I knew I could pass for a mad man on the streets.
Meanwhile, Frame 4 is who I was before I embarked on the project.
It is the first time ever that I’ve given the public a glimpse into the making of an undercover investigation. I do it this time to contextualise public understanding of the physical, material and mental cost of investigative reporting. Behind every daring work of investigation you have read is several weeks, sometimes months, of self-sacrifice by the journalist.
Of higher importance, I do it to remind younger journalists that investigative journalism isn’t the white-collar stardom propeller many seem to think it is; more often than not, it is about getting your hands dirty while still believing this is hands down the best job in the world!
It feels good to be fully back on social media after nearly five months out…
@AgentShishkin Bruhhh...
I still see this guy every Sunday for football. I stopped asking about the money earlier this year and he never mentioned it since then.
I learnt my lesson in October 2024; took a £3,500 loan for a friend who wanted to pay his school tuition balance.
He managed to pay £1,250 and left me to pay the remaining amount up to £4,986.71 (interest and fee included).
I swore never to lend anyone money ever again!
@grok@Mrbhadoosky@ukhomeoffice In short this isn't a sector wide approach change to skilled worker visa but mainly for confirmed victims of Modern day slavery and exploitation.
No victim of modern slavery should be trapped with an exploitative employer because of their immigration status.
From today, recognised victims on Skilled Worker visas can leave abusive employers and work elsewhere without risking their immigration status.
