The greatest danger is not realizing the greatest danger. I wrote "The Conspiracy to End America: Five Ways My Old Party Is Driving Democracy to Autocracy" as a plea to grasp the true danger facing America.
I hope you will consider pre-ordering to help spread this warning. https://t.co/PsKM39m54Y
Meet russia's torturer in a white coat: Vyacheslav Mykolaiovych Cherdantsev.
He didn't heal. He tortured.
A 48-year-old prison "doctor" at Penal Colony No. 7 in Pakino, he humiliated and abused Ukrainian POWs under the guise of medical examinations.
He drew penises on prisoners' faces with green antiseptic, forced naked men to hug, dance, and simulate sex during so-called medical examinations. He denied treatment for scabies, infected wounds, and broken bones. He beat them, humiliated them, and threatened them with rape.
Dozens of Ukrainian survivors who endured this hell independently identified him. Many were left psychologically shattered. One 23-year-old Ukrainian Marine died by suicide after enduring the abuse.
This is not a doctor. This is a sadist. This is a war criminal.
The investigative journalists at Skhemy identified him and revealed his face.
Cherdantsev belongs in the dock, alongside the entire system that enabled and protected him.
The world knows his face. Now he must answer for his crimes.

Thirty-five-year-old Alya was a ballet teacher before the war. When she joined the military, men would say, "A pretty doll. She isn't smart enough." Or: "She came here to find a husband."
Alya would reply, "I was a ballerina. I had a choice. I didn't need to join the army to find a husband."
More than 70,000 women serve in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, with around 10,000 fighting on the front lines. The Times tells the stories of three of them.
Alya still remembers her first wounded soldier. An artillery shell had shattered both of his legs. She administered pain relief, monitored his blood pressure, pulse, and breathing, and spoke to him calmly. She says it was easier because he wasn't screaming. She never remembered his name and doesn't know whether he survived.
When Alya returned to Kyiv on leave, she went into a store with a fellow soldier. Both were wearing uniforms. The cashier thanked only him for his service.
Katya was 19 when she joined the army. She had dreamed of becoming an astrophysicist. The men tested her every day, insisting she wouldn't make it and couldn't handle the job.
"There was a lot of alcohol, a lot of harassment, and a lot of pressure. I was fighting my own little war."
Today, Katya serves on a drone crew alongside her boyfriend. They share their underground bunker near the front line with a cat.
After her first direct strike on a Russian infantry column, Katya felt nothing.
"It was just my job. I thought: it's done. It worked."
She says the worst moment is when the enemy spots you.
"If you can see them, they can see you."
Twenty-five-year-old Yana was a dancer, seamstress, and makeup artist before the war. She arrived at the recruitment office wearing a Monsters, Inc. T-shirt, earning the callsign "Cartoon."
She initially worked in an administrative role, then learned to shoot, became an FPV drone pilot, and eventually led the all-female Amazon Banshees drone platoon, whose members range in age from 18 to 51.
In August 2024, a Russian shell exploded above Yana's head, leaving her with permanent hearing loss in one ear. From the hospital, she posted a photo of herself covered in mud with the caption: "The face of a war that was never meant for women."
Seven months and several surgeries later, she returned to the front wearing hearing aids.
Before leaving for war, Yana wrote to her four-year-old daughter:
"Don't be afraid to go where it's frightening. There is always a way out. And remember: love never dies."
Yana says:
"I'm not a heroine. I'm simply still standing. When it's all over, I'll enroll in choreography classes and dance with my daughter."
"The big debate is whether it's russia's war or Putin's war. Unfortunately, it's russia's war. Every russian, myself included, has a responsibility for the crimes committed in Ukraine."

Hey @grahamformaine, shut up about yourself.
You have one shot at not being hated the rest of your life. Do everything you can to elect a Dem to Senate from Maine.

Today is the funeral of little angel Milana. She was just 5 years old. Russians killed her mother Natalia as well. Her older sister, Veronica, 13, is in the hospital.
📍Sumy, Ukraine
This is a very difficult photo to share, but it would dishonour these Ukrainians - slaughtered in Russian genocide - not to show the world exactly what Moscow does to Ukraine and Ukrainians day after day after day after day. Twelve and a half years of Russian genocide in Europe.
For many years now, my people have been showing the whole world what is happening in Ukraine, and what the russians are doing to our country, our people, and our cities. You often see lines like: "When will the world finally hear us?", "World, don’t close your eyes," or "Please, don’t stay silent." Last night, the russians struck Zaporizhzhia and Sumy again-as always, brutally and mercilessly, as if we Ukrainians are not human beings, but just a testing ground, a place where they can do whatever they want with impunity, because it’s "war," after all.
This morning, I see my people showing the world the horrific footage of another terrible night; as always, only the names of the cities change. And yes, the world sees everything, the world hears, the world is not silent. But what is the point of it all? What can an ordinary person from any European country really do on a global scale? We have already heard every kind of condolence, and every prayer in the world has been addressed to Ukrainians and Ukraine.
Half of 2026 is already behind us. Perhaps the world has just grown accustomed to someone else’s pain. Or maybe this war has dragged on so long that everyone is starting to feel hopeless and powerless... Honestly, I don't know anymore. But I do know one thing: silence is not an option. Yet, appealing to the world no longer makes sense-everyone already knows, sees, and hears everything. And the russians act as if this is their world, or as if they’ve simply taken the wheel and are dictating the rules of impunity... I don’t even know how to end this text.
That’s so heartbreaking. Five people, the entire Savchuk family - Yuriy, Tetiana, Sofiia, Nikita, and his fiancée, Oleksandra, were killed by Russia in their apartment in Kyiv on July 2.
Russia is pure evil. RIP #StopRussia#StandWithUkraine
russian terrorists killed the wife and 5-year-old daughter of a Ukrainian police officer from the Sumy region.
Their older daughter was injured and is now in the hospital.
While he was defending Ukraine, russia murdered his family.
Never say you don't know what russia is.
This morning Russia murdered more children in Ukraine's north eastern region of Sumy.
Remember these things when Ukraine is finally forced to level Moscow apartment blocks to stop the war.
Ukrainian scientist and physics professor Mykhailo Vysotskyi posted this heartbreaking video of his home destroyed by russia.
"My home. My apartment. My bedroom. Library. Cabinet. The life of a couple of generations. The archive we had been collecting since late XIX. Thousands of books, many thousands of photos. Unique manuscripts. Several paintings by prominent Ukrainian painters. Video, audio library. Up to the latest scripts of the psychics lectures for YouTube."
Two weeks ago, Mykhailo's apartment was already damaged by the previous attack — to be fully destroyed a day before yesterday 💔 This hurts so much. Thank God he and his parents, also prominent professors, are alive, but they lost everything they've built for generations.
russia aims to destroy our science, knowledge, culture, and identity. In the background, russians are whitewashing in the West by buying out prestigious literature prizes and making loud comebacks in the sports. This should be physically disgusting to any sane person.
I hope the time will judge everyone by their deeds.
This is Victoria, she was only 10-year-old. Russians killed her in Lozova, Kharkiv region 💔
Attack, which took place previous day, hit a family with three children. Viktoria suffered severe burns, and despite doctors' desperate efforts to save her, she tragically passed away.
When I grew up, July 4th was the day Vicksburg fell, and Gettysburg was lost. The Lost Cause glorified traitors fighting for the right to own another human being.
Today we are in another Lost Cause. Like the first, it is an effort to justify evil. But the MAGA Lost Cause is much more dangerous.
My thoughts on July 4th.
