It’s gonna be a cold one! But have some warm reading along the way, compliments of my friend and colleague @DrDesaiMDx#RSNA2023 @EmoryRadiology @EmoryHospMed @EmoryMedicine
You are at #RSNA23. Showing up is 1/2 the battle.
Here my top 5 tips to get the most out of this experience. A 🧵
✅Prioritize meeting people over attending sessions.
EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
Even if you spend a minute with someone - give them the gift of your presence. Be in the moment.
You will meet some amazing people! Build connections to last a life time, solicit mentors, find sponsors, if nothing get inspired... Enough said.
✅Stay at the venue for the ENTIRE day, hangout in the educational exhibit areas if you have nothing to do, wander by the start up companies, and think what are the big-picture trends.
Curbside interactions and off the cuff comments can sometime create aha moments so don't disregard the value of this time.
Take notes and think about what to work on in 2024 over the holidays.
✅Dress formal & wear comfy shoes. You do not want to be under-dressed and not well groomed for the big opportunities that might spring up when you least expect them!
Job offers, leadership opportunities, article invitations etc. they all happen in the curbside discussions.
✅Go to dinners and socials.
I did 3 dinners one night a few years ago. I am an introvert, it was hard!
This is especially important to do if you are looking for a job or a leadership position. Employers are also looking for great candidates to hire at @RSNA too - it's a win-win
✅Take lot's of pictures and even videos! You will cherish them years down the road - especially when you are older and in retirement.
Bonus tip = Engage on @Twitter.
If you know of someone from social media - walk up to them and introduce yourself.
Be specific about some post - it's a great conversation starter!
Most of all - SMILE, Have fun!
The future of medical #AI lies in adaptable, comprehensive models. Integrating #LLMs with diverse datasets shows promise, but responsible, equitable development and validation - like we do at https://t.co/ZJ1LqHf50a - is crucial for widespread adoption. https://t.co/fVGloalkH4
Very educational @SIIM_Tweets webinar today on Uncertainty Quantification (UQ) in medical AI — thank you @ShahriarFaghani@ManaMSF94@Slowvak! Will be watching to see how health systems incorporate this concept when evaluating models.
Thanks to everyone for a great send-off! I am sad to leave @EmoryRadiology after 10+ years, but looking forward to working with the amazing clinical and research faculty @IURadiology.
#AIBiasDatathon was a huge success! Four days of immersive learning, collaboration and cultivating meaningful connections, uniting incredible individuals from diverse backgrounds. Kudos to @judywawira, @HariTrivediMD ,@angiowoman , and @hiti_lab for organizing this amazing event!
