Medicaid matters, even if you’ve never used it.
It's one of the most powerful tools we have to improve health outcomes, reduce costs, and strengthen local economies.
Without Medicaid, ripple effects are felt by everyone:
◾ ERs become crowded as patients delay primary care.
◾ Costs rise when preventable conditions become emergencies.
◾ Local economies are affected, as health centers and other providers — often the largest employers in rural areas — face financial instability.
For every $1 invested in primary care, $13 is saved in downstream costs.

We're proud to be a part of the Save NY's Safety Net coalition.
The 340B Prescription Drug Discount Program is essential for safety net providers and the 2.5 million patients we serve. The 340B prescription drug program must be protected by the state (A.6222/S.1913).
The 340B prescription drug program is better for patients, better for taxpayers, and leads to better health outcomes. Include the 340B Anti‑Discrimination Act (A.6222 Paulin / S.1913 Rivera) in the NYS budget, @GovKathyHochul.
It is time that New York State recognize Community Health Centers are the answer to rising healthcare costs, patient equity, and improving our state's quality of life.

Congress passed a bill that threatens health coverage and community care for millions of people across New York. These cuts will destabilize our entire healthcare system. But it’s not too late to reverse course!

Assemblyman DeStefano exemplifies our mission in his own work: the care you need, the respect you deserve.
Advocates for Community Health issued the following statement in response to the launch of the Rural Health Transformation Program and its related Notice of Funding Opportunity on September 15th:
Congress created the Rural Health Transformation Program to bring innovation and stability to the rural communities that need it most. Community health centers (CHCs) are the clearest example of this mission in action. With decades of experience delivering affordable, accountable, and high-quality care, health centers are already driving the very outcomes this initiative seeks to expand.
With the application for this new program released this week, ensuring health centers have access to these resources is vital. With the right support, they can build on their strong foundation to further strengthen rural communities – by growing the health care workforce, advancing value-based care, and tackling the chronic disease epidemic. As adaptable and forward-looking partners, health centers stand ready to work with federal and state leaders to deliver lasting, sustainable improvements through the Rural Health Transformation Program.
CHCs provide comprehensive, patient-centered primary care regardless of ability to pay, including services such as checkups, dental and behavioral health, maternal care, and telehealth. They are also an anchor of the rural health care ecosystem. In 2024, nearly 34 million people received care at a health center—and nearly one in three lived in rural America.
