The prize, named in honor of MSK’s past President Emeritus, the late Paul Marks, recognizes a new generation of leaders who are making significant contributions to the understanding of cancer or are improving the treatment of the disease.

We're excited to share that Dr. Omar Abdel-Wahab, a leukemia specialist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) and Chair of the Molecular Pharmacology Program at Sloan Kettering Institute (SKI), has been elected to the @theNAMedicine (NAM).
NAM elects members each year who have demonstrated exceptional professional achievement and commitment within the National Academies. As a pioneering physician-scientist, Dr. Abdel-Wahab has made significant contributions to uncovering the genetic causes of blood cancers and translating these discoveries into therapeutic advances.
With Dr. Abdel-Wahab’s appointment, a total of 28 MSK faculty members have been conferred with this recognition. Congratulations, Dr. Abdel-Wahab!
