Here is a statistic to frame above your fireplace and show your grandchildren: Argentina’s first shot of any kind in Sunday’s World Cup final arrived in the 115th minute, a record of futility for a World Cup. Spain finished with 20 shots to Argentina’s two, twelve on target to none. Not one. In a final. ESPN called it arguably the worst World Cup final in living memory, and that was the polite version.

It's absolutely foolish to compare players of 3 generations !!! Maradona played in grounds which didn't even have propers turfs.. Even the Azteca Stadium in Mexico in 1986 was patchy.. and he single-handedly won 1986 WC, took Argentina to 1990 finals & did unreal things for Napoli.. Messi is great not there are only 2 GOATs - both playing with each other in heaven with God himself watching them. And don't forget R9, Zidane, Ronaldinho, Alfredo DeStefano, Puskas.. on their days, they were all GOATs ... Please don't be biased - every team wanted to kicked Maradona out of the game but he prevailed !! Pele & Maradona both No.1 Messi No.2 .. then from No. 3 there are many contenders - all GOATs on their own days ✌️
