Yes—lame question. There’s no way Jennifer Siebel Newsom would know when they began. Better question: Have you received a target letter from the FBI/Justice Dept?
Until they receive one, there’s no proof that it’s a serious investigation that is likely to produce a prosecutable crime. So they can just play the victim when the FBI may just be reviewing her nonprofits to ensure their compliant with federal law governing charities. Michael Pack, who makes conservative documentaries (one about Clarence Thomas) and headed the @USAGM, was investigated and prosecuted under the BIDEN administration for similar concerns.

🚨🚨My take on Vance’s overblown helicopter-gate story: Again, this is an issue of @SecretService leadership’s ( i.e. Director Curran and Deputy Matt Quinn) willingness to speak truth to power and let @VP Vance know how his detail is feeling and how understaffed they are. This morale issue on the VP detail, which I have reported on since last year, could have been avoided with one conversation between Curran and Vance. Just like when Pres. Trump wanted to accept and use the Qatari plane when it wasn’t as safe as the old AF1 bc retrofitting a plane is never aa safe, someine in security/military leadership should have said no.

This story appears to purposefully focused on zinging Vance instead of the leadership that represent the rank and file Secret Service agents on his detail. I’ve been reporting the entire 2nd Trump administration that VP has been overworked and understaffed.

Do we really think Vance knows how much it costs to an hour to operate Marine 2? He is usually required to use Marine 2 himself to go to Joint Base Andrews in iffy weather instead of a motorcade, which is far nore disruptive in city streets. He was likely accompanying his son to his golf lesson to spend time with him before another trip he had to take.

Are we really hitting Vance for trying to be a good father and vp of the US at the same time? Isn’t that what California First PartnerJennifer Siebel Newsom is always talking about - that fathers need to step up in raising kids?

My Marine friends tell me that Marine One and Marine Two must be flown multiple times a week to ensure they are at top-notch operability. Applying a $16,000 - $24,000 cost to a Vance trip without noting that they must be flown mutiple times weekly regardless if Vance or his son are passengers is really bad journalism.

The head of the detail or the USSS director or deputy director would be the ones who should have talked to Vance to try to work out a nore reasonable aporoach to the schedule. Did they ever have that conversation? If not, why not? This story doesn’t answer that critical question in what journalistically appears to be an blatant effort to tar Vance as acting “privileged” when he’s one of the nost active VPs — and a father to young kids — too boot that we’ve had in more than a half century.
