A momentous day for West Bengal’s healthcare journey.

Today, I had the privilege of attending the auspicious Bhumi Pujan ceremony of the Adani Arogya Mandir in Action Area II, New Town, Kolkata, alongside Shri Gautam Adani Ji and his family.
This transformative initiative marks a major milestone in turning West Bengal into the premier healthcare, medical education and research hub of Eastern India.

The upcoming Adani Arogya Mandir is designed not just as a Hospital, but as a comprehensive, integrated Health City built across 51 acres with an investment exceeding ₹2,500 crore.
Creating one of the largest tertiary and quaternary healthcare destinations in the nation, the 2,000-Bed Super-Speciality Hospital will have 1,000 beds earmarked to provide free and heavily subsidized treatment for the economically disadvantaged and underprivileged, ensuring the highest standard of treatment is never denied to anyone due to lack of means, reflecting the true strength of this project which is its commitment to social equity.

The project will generate significant direct and indirect thousands of new employment opportunities, creating jobs for specialist doctors, nursing professionals, paramedical technicians, healthcare administrators and ancillary support workers across the State.
Our commitment remains unwavering: modern infrastructure, economic progress and above all, compassionate, accessible and dignified healthcare for every citizen of West Bengal.
May this institution stand as a Temple of Healing and service for generations to come.

Our Government remains steadfast and uncompromising in our commitment to build a Drug-free West Bengal.
To protect our Youth from the devastating menace of substance abuse and to dismantle illegal trafficking networks, our Police and Administration have been taking decisive & continuous action across the State.

Recently, through the vigilant efforts of the Police Administration in Dakshin Dinajpur district, nearly 2 lakh bottles of illegally procured and smuggled codeine-based cough syrup were seized and successfully destroyed.
Following this proactive enforcement, the concerned pharmaceutical manufacturer, Laborate Pharmaceuticals India Ltd, has submitted a formal representation pledging cooperation in curbing the drug menace. To support our mission of securing a drug-free public health system and preventing the misuse of pharmaceutical formulations, the company has formally undertaken that its product, Eskuf Cough Syrup, will no longer be sold directly or through its local sales depot to any dealer within the State of West Bengal. Furthermore, the company has recalled all existing inventory of the product from its local depot.

There is absolutely Zero Tolerance for illicit narcotics and drug trafficking in Bengal. Our Administration will continue to act relentlessly to protect Public health and secure a safe future for the upcoming generations.
I commend our Police Force and local Administration for their vigilance and dedicated service.
Together, let us build a healthier, safer and drug-free West Bengal.

Cooch Behar: Heritage & Reverence
I paid floral tributes and sought inspiration at the statue of Thakur Panchanan Barma.
I was fortunate to offer prayers, aarti and puja at the historic Madan Mohan Temple, praying for the peace, welfare and prosperity of the People of West Bengal.
I also cherished the opportunity to interac with local residents, devotees and Temple Trustees.

Murti, Jalpaiguri: Infrastructure for the Dooars
Formally inaugurated the newly built arch bridge across the Murti River, improving connectivity between Jalpaiguri with Nagrakata. This critical link reduces detour distances, streamlines daily commutes and unlocks faster access for Dooars tourism.

Nilpara Ground, Alipurduar: World Rhino Day Observance
Joined Forest Department Officials, wildlife enthusiasts and local citizens to mark World Rhino Day. Inspected the conservation gallery and signed the Rhino Protection pledge wall. Also supervised the ceremonial destruction by burning of seized rhino horns and illegal wildlife contraband, reaffirming a strict zero-tolerance mandate against poachers and trafficking syndicates.

Jaldapara National Park: Wildlife & Field Inspection
Conducted an on-ground evening inspection of the sanctuary perimeter and sighted one-horned rhinos in their natural habitat.
Also spent time meeting the camp elephants, including a mother and her young calf.
I commended the Forest Guards, Mahouts and field staff whose round-the-clock vigil keeps our State's biodiversity secure.

From enhancing transport infrastructure to preserving our forests and rich cultural heritage, North Bengal remains central to our governance priorities.

Yesterday I visited the residence of renowned Industrialist and Chairman of Reliance Industries, Shri Mukesh Ambani Ji, in Mumbai.
Had the divine privilege of offering prayers before Lord Ganesha, seeking His supreme blessings for the peace, progress and prosperity of our Nation.
As a sacred token carrying the soul, spirit and timeless devotion of our State, I had the honour of presenting a special holy memento of Maa Kali to the Ambani family, praying that the Divine Mother blesses them with good health, happiness and continued success.
During our warm interaction, we also exchanged thoughts on the immense possibilities for industrial growth and employment generation in West Bengal. Our State is ready to welcome visionary investments that empower our youth and drive sustainable economic resurgence.

আসন্ন এই পবিত্র পরবের প্রাক্কালে আজ পুরুলিয়ার টামনা স্থিত ঐতিহাসিক "করম আখড়ায়" কুড়মি সমাজের আয়োজিত এক বিশাল করম মহা-সমাবেশ ও সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত থাকার সৌভাগ্য হলো। সেখানে উপস্থিত অগণিত মানুষের স্বতঃস্ফূর্ত অংশগ্রহণ এবং জনসমুদ্র দেখে আমি অভিভূত।
জঙ্গলমহলের মূলবাসী সমাজের সংস্কৃতি, ঐতিহ্য এবং জীবনধারার সঙ্গে এই করম উৎসব ওতপ্রোতভাবে জড়িয়ে আছে। এটি কেবল একটি পরব নয়, এটি প্রকৃতি পূজার এক মহান ঐতিহ্য। কৃষি ও প্রকৃতির সমৃদ্ধির জন্য প্রার্থনা করার এই প্রাচীন প্রথা আমাদের মনে করিয়ে দেয় যে মানুষ ও প্রকৃতি একে অপরের পরিপূরক।
কুড়মি সমাজের ভাই-বোনেদের এই সমৃদ্ধ সংস্কৃতি ও ঐতিহ্য রক্ষা করার প্রচেষ্টা সত্যিই প্রশংসনীয়। আজ মঞ্চে উপস্থিত থেকে তাঁদের সাথে করম আখড়ায় প্রকৃতির বন্দনা করার এবং এই মহান সংস্কৃতির অংশ হওয়ার সুযোগ পেয়ে আমি নিজেকে ধন্য মনে করছি। আমরা সবাই মিলে জঙ্গলমহলের এই অমূল্য সংস্কৃতি ও ঐতিহ্যকে আগামী প্রজন্মের জন্য আগলে রাখব।

Deeply saddened by the untimely demise of senior journalist Smt Payal Mehta Ji.
Her incisive reporting, integrity and exceptional coverage of Parliament set a benchmark in political journalism.
She was an extremely hardworking and dedicated journalist who covered the Parliament beat with great commitment and professionalism. A tremendous loss to Indian media.

Her father also passed away recently.

রাষ্ট্রীয় স্বয়ংসেবক সঙ্ঘের প্রবীণ প্রচারক, শ্রদ্ধেয় শ্রী বাসুদেব পালের প্রয়াণে আমি গভীরভাবে শোকাহত।

১৯৮০ সাল থেকে দীর্ঘ চার দশকেরও বেশি সময় ধরে তিনি রাষ্ট্রীয় স্বয়ংসেবক সঙ্ঘের প্রচারক হিসেবে নিজেকে সম্পূর্ণভাবে সঙ্ঘের কাজে নিয়োজিত রেখেছিলেন। পশ্চিমবঙ্গ ও আসামের বিভিন্ন প্রান্তে দায়িত্ব পালনের পাশাপাশি উত্তরবঙ্গ প্রান্তের প্রচার প্রমুখ ও প্রান্ত কার্যকারিণীর সদস্য হিসেবেও তিনি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা পালন করেছেন। সঙ্ঘের বৈচারিক ও প্রকাশনার কাজেও তাঁর অবদান ছিল উল্লেখযোগ্য। দীর্ঘ কয়েক দশক ধরে সঙ্ঘের কাজে তাঁর নিঃস্বার্থ আত্মনিয়োগ, নিষ্ঠা, ত্যাগ ও আদর্শের প্রতি অবিচল আনুগত্য অগণিত স্বয়ংসেবকের কাছে অনুপ্রেরণার।

পরম করুণাময়ের কাছে স্বর্গীয় বাসুদেব বাবুর বিদেহী আত্মার চিরশান্তি প্রার্থনা করি এবং শোকসন্তপ্ত পরিবার, আত্মীয়, বন্ধুদের প্রতি আমার সমবদনা জ্ঞাপন করি। ঈশ্বর এই কঠিন সময়ে সকলকে এই শোক সহ্য করার শক্তি দিন।

ঐতিহ্যমণ্ডিত দিল্লি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় ছাত্র সংসদ (DUSU) নির্বাচনে শিক্ষার্থীরা ব্যালটের মাধ্যমে অখিল ভারতীয় বিদ্যার্থী পরিষদ (ABVP)-এর প্রার্থীদের সমর্থন জানিয়ে এক সুস্পষ্ট বার্তা দিয়েছেন যে দেশের ছাত্র ও যুবশক্তি সম্পূর্ণভাবে রাষ্ট্রবাদ, ইতিবাচক ছাত্র রাজনীতি এবং এবিভিপির সাথে রয়েছেন।

ছাত্র সংসদের চারটি প্রধান পদের মধ্যে সভাপতি সহ তিনটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ পদেই বিপুল জনসমর্থন নিয়ে জয়লাভ করেছে এবিভিপি।

We are closely and continuously monitoring the situation of the flood-ravaged Bhutni islet in Malda district.
Today, a high-level delegation comprising our Hon’ble Ministers Shri Shankar Ghosh, Shri Ajay Poddar, Smt. Sumana Sarkar, Shri Kaushik Chowdhury, MP Shri Khagen Murmu, MLAs, District Magistrate Shri Rajanvir Singh Kapur and Senior Officials of the district administration including ADMs, SDO and BDOs visited the submerged areas of Bhutni to take stock of the ground reality.

The team traversed inundated zones by boat and conducted an extensive inspection of the relief camps to ensure that rescue and relief operations are running without hindrance.
The Malda district administration have already released a detailed account of relief and other services provided in the flood-hit areas, which include comparative figures for relief materials and services, including boats and generators, provided during the floods of 2024, 2025 and 2026. The figures show the quantity of relief materials and other services provided this year is much higher.

While our immediate relief machinery is functioning smoothly and meeting the urgent needs of the flood affected People, I am fully aware of the earnest appeal made by the residents of Bhutni for a permanent, lasting remedy to this recurring distress caused by riverbank erosion and seasonal swelling of the Ganga River.
I want to assure my brothers and sisters of Bhutni that our Government is firmly committed to resolving this issue. As soon as the monsoon recedes and water levels stabilize, the State Government in coordination with the Central Government will initiate comprehensive, long-term anti-erosion measures to secure the area and protect lives and livelihoods permanently.

বন্যা ও প্রাকৃতিক দুর্যোগের এই কঠিন পরিস্থিতিতে আমাদের পরিশ্রমী কৃষকদের পাশে দাঁড়ানোই আমাদের সরকারের প্রধান অগ্রাধিকার।

২০১৯-২০ সালে পূর্বতন মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের সরকার এই প্রধানমন্ত্রী ফসল বীমা যোজনা (PMFBY) প্রকল্পে কৃষকদের নথিভুক্তিকরণ বন্ধ করে দিয়েছিল, যার ফলে পশ্চিমবঙ্গের কৃষকেরা দীর্ঘদিন ন্যায্য সুরক্ষা থেকে বঞ্চিত ছিলেন। তবে রাজ্যে বিজেপি সরকার ক্ষমতায় আসার পর কৃষকদের স্বার্থকে সর্বোচ্চ গুরুত্ব দিয়ে পুনরায় এই শস্যবিমা সুবিধা চালু করা হয়েছে। নতুন সরকারের অধীনে প্রথম দফার নথিভুক্তিকরণ শুরু হয়েছে, আর প্রথম দফাতেই কৃষকদের অভূতপূর্ব সাড়া মিলেছে।

সাম্প্রতিক বন্যায় ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত কৃষকদের আর্থিক সুরক্ষা সুনিশ্চিত করার জন্য ২০২৬ সালের খরিফ মরসুমে দ্রুত পদক্ষেপ নেওয়া হয়েছে। ১৫ই সেপ্টেম্বর ২০২৬ পর্যন্ত অত্যন্ত সুশৃঙ্খল প্রক্রিয়ায় মোট ৩২ লক্ষ কৃষককে এই বিমার আওতায় এনে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ আজ সমগ্র দেশের মধ্যে দ্বিতীয় স্থান অর্জন করেছে।

বন্যাপীড়িত জেলাগুলিতেও কৃষকদের নথিভুক্তিকরণের চিত্র অত্যন্ত ইতিবাচক:

* পূর্ব মেদিনীপুর: ৭.২৩ লক্ষ কৃষক
* পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর: ৪.৭৩ লক্ষ কৃষক
* হুগলি: ১.৬৮ লক্ষ কৃষক
* ঝাড়গ্রাম: ৪২ হাজার কৃষক

বন্যাদুর্গত এলাকার কৃষকদের সুবিধার্থে গত আগস্ট থেকে ১৫ই সেপ্টেম্বর পর্যন্ত প্রতিটি গ্রাম পঞ্চায়েত স্তরে বিশেষ শিবিরের আয়োজন করা হয়েছিল। এর মাধ্যমে সরাসরি কৃষকদের বিমা সুরক্ষার আওতায় এনে ক্ষতিপূরণ পাওয়ার পথ প্রশস্ত করা হয়েছে।

এছাড়া কৃষকদের ওপর থেকে খরচের বোঝা কমাতে কৃষকদের প্রদেয় প্রিমিয়ামের সিংহভাগ রাজ্য সরকার নিজের বাজেট থেকেই বহন করছে:

* ১ হেক্টর (২.৫০ একর) পর্যন্ত জমি: কৃষকদের দিতে হচ্ছে মাত্র ১ টাকার প্রতীকী (টোকেন) অর্থ।
* ১ থেকে ২ হেক্টর জমি: কৃষকদের দিতে হচ্ছে একর প্রতি নামমাত্র ১০০ টাকা।
* অবশিষ্ট প্রিমিয়াম: বাকি সমুদয় প্রিমিয়ামের অর্থ সরাসরি রাজ্য সরকার প্রদান করছে।

২০২৬ সালের আগস্ট মাসের বন্যায় ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত কৃষকদের দ্রুত ক্ষতিপূরণ পৌঁছে দিতে বিমা সংস্থাগুলিকে অবিলম্বে ‘মিড-সিজন অ্যাডভার্সিটি’ (মধ্যবর্তী ক্ষয়ক্ষতি)-র মূল্যায়ন চূড়ান্ত করার কড়া নির্দেশ দেওয়া হয়েছে। এছাড়া ব্যাংকগুলির মাধ্যমে ঋণগ্রহীতা কৃষকদের নথিভুক্ত করার শেষ সময়সীমা ৩০শে সেপ্টেম্বর ২০২৬ পর্যন্ত বাড়ানো হয়েছে, ফলে এই নথিভুক্তির সংখ্যা আরও উল্লেখযোগ্যভাবে বৃদ্ধি পাবে।

পশ্চিমবঙ্গের কৃষক ভাই-বোনেরাই আমাদের শক্তি ও প্রেরণা; তাঁদের ফসলের সুরক্ষা ও ন্যায্য অধিকার নিশ্চিত করতে আমরা সর্বদা পাশে আছি।

পশ্চিমবঙ্গে রাজ্য সরকারি বিদ্যালয়গুলিতে প্রত্যেক পড়ুয়ার জন্য পরিচ্ছন্ন পরিবেশে উন্নত মানের সুষম ও পুষ্টিকর আহার সুনিশ্চিত করতে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সরকার অঙ্গীকারবদ্ধ। ভবিষ্যৎ প্রজন্মের শারীরিক ও মানসিক বিকাশের লক্ষ্যে পুষ্টির ঘাটতি দূর করা সরকারের অন্যতম অগ্রাধিকার।

মিড-ডে মিল (পিএম পোষণ) পরিষেবাকে আরও ফলপ্রসূ ও স্বাস্থ্যসম্মত করতে ইসকন (ISKCON)-এর সহযোগী সংস্থা ‘অন্নমৃতা ফাউন্ডেশন’-এর সঙ্গে রাজ্য সরকারের যৌথ উদ্যোগ সফলভাবে এগিয়ে চলেছে।

প্রকল্পের প্রথম ধাপে পয়লা আগস্ট থেকে রাজ্যের প্রায় ৩০ হাজার ছাত্রছাত্রীদের কেন্দ্রীভূত আধুনিক রন্ধনশালার (Centralized Kitchen) মাধ্যমে রান্না করা পুষ্টিকর খাবার পৌঁছে দেওয়ার দায়িত্ব দেওয়া হয়।
স্বয়ংক্রিয় ও স্বাস্থ্যসম্মত উপায়ে খাদ্য প্রস্তুত করা, নির্ধারিত ক্যালোরি ও প্রোটিনের মান বজায় রাখা এবং সময়মতো খাবার পৌঁছে দেওয়ার ক্ষেত্রে সংস্থাটির দায়িত্বশীলতার পরিচয় পাওয়া যায়।
প্রাথমিক সাফল্যের ভিত্তিতে রাজ্য সরকার এই পরিষেবার পরিধি বাড়িয়ে আরও ১৫ হাজার ছাত্রছাত্রীদের এর আওতায় নিয়ে আসে। এর ফলে বর্তমানে মোট ৪৫ হাজার পড়ুয়া উন্নত মানের মিড-ডে মিলের সুবিধা পাচ্ছে।

আগামী পয়লা অক্টোবর তারিখ থেকে ১ লক্ষ ছাত্রছাত্রীদের এই পরিষেবার সঙ্গে সংযুক্ত করা হবে এবং চূড়ান্ত পর্যায়ে ধাপে ধাপে এই প্রকল্পের আওতায় রাজ্যের প্রতিটি সরকারি ও সরকার-পোষিত বিদ্যালয়ের সমস্ত পড়ুয়ার কাছে এই সুষম আহার পৌঁছে দেওয়ার সুস্পষ্ট পরিকল্পনা গ্রহণ করা হয়েছে।

বিদ্যালয় স্তরে ক্ষুধা ও অপুষ্টি দূর করে প্রতিটি শিশুর সুস্থ শরীর, প্রখর মেধা ও উজ্জ্বল ভবিষ্যতের মজবুত ভিত গড়ে তুলতে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সরকার সর্বদা সচেষ্ট।
