As the fastest growing cohort in the military, women will carry a disproportionate burden of Donald Trump’s VA privatization. New from me in @TheProspect:

On September 25th, physicians and healthcare workers released a letter in support of the publicly funded VA healthcare system. In my latest article on Substack, I help people understand why this letter is so unique and important.

One of the most important features of the VA healthcare system is the camaraderie found amongst patients. If Donald Trump gets his way on VA privatization, that could change for the worse.

At the risk of upsetting one of the most vengeful presidential administrations in recent history, physicians and healthcare workers penned a courageous letter in defense of veteran healthcare:

"Patients in VA waiting rooms, cafeterias, lobbies, and hallways, not only acknowledge each other but talk to each other – all the time.” A new piece I wrote on the importance of the VA community.

A new letter from physicians and healthcare workers advocating for the VA details the importance of the nation’s best, and only, genuine healthcare system.

The community provided by the VA is essential to the health of veterans across the country. Donald Trump’s plans for privatization could eliminate that entirely.

This election is super important to the future of #Veterans and the VA. Vets should recognize what's at stake #VAbenefits. #Project2025isTrump will demolish the VA
@DeptVetAffairs Veterans should choose the VA because it's the only healthcare system in the nation that understands veterans complex healthcare problems. Vets should fight every attempt to privatize the VA. #stopvaprivatization
"...the case could help determine whether the federal government can be held liable for systemic prejudices that, over generations, have disadvantaged African Americans who served in the military and their families."

Last week, we hosted the Swords' Tenant Appreciation Lunch at our housing site in the Presidio! Veteran residents from across our 6 housing programs enjoyed playing bingo, dominoes, and a great meal - with help from a friendly group of volunteers. #supportvets@ciscomeraki
Swords does great work housing homeless veterans. That work is done in partnership with the VA. But folks want to privatize the VA which will cripple homeless programs.
