@RalfLittle@UandDave@Mellor76 Best thing I've seen in ages. I binge watched it and wished there were twice as many episodes. Some really thoughtful themes and issues. Will's bravery in the men's group and Ralf's smile to the lady at the tea dance. When's series 2?
@miss_mcinerney@TeacherTapp Some parents: avoiding issues with schools over behaviour, attendance and uniform issues. Parents who pull y10/ 11 out and then presume work / childcare or no education is ok. Parents avoiding holiday fines. I think parents have realized there is little supervision on home ed
If you throw a brick and it hits a policeman you’re not a concerned citizen, you’re a rioter.
Same if you just throw the brick and it misses. Or if you’re just holding a brick. Or if you’re standing next to someone holding a brick. Or if you watch someone with a brick and stay.
@branwenjeffreys Look at the "leave teaching" social media sites. More and more women on maternity leave are reporting that they have been refused the opportunity to work part time on their return. Many schools making it clear they don't want parents of young children on their staff.
@WorldByWolf@YvetteCooperMP@PeterStefanovi2 Those you term the "angry masses" are thugs and cowards and do not represent the people of Southport or the country. They are backed up by online idiots who hide behind pseudonyms. The emergency services were heroes two days ago; what kind of scum attacks them a day later?
@jimmython@PaulBrandITV The grieving families of the murdered girls; the terrorized residents; the injured police officers and their families and the handlers of the injured dogs would probably not consider themselves irrelevant
I thought I would fact check this bizarre article from this weekend's Observer (not, as people keep saying, the @guardian, which normally is much better for quality education coverage). It's almost easier to find out what is true, than to deal with all the inaccuracies. 🧵
@TheNFER @dawsonbmclean @tes Young people connect on social media. They will be very aware of the number of trainees and ECT's who have had a miserable time due to bullying from mentors or senior management; the increased use of support plans in schools and references held over their heads as a threat.
@MaryWBousted@TolpuddleFest Possibly the number of Headteachers refusing part time working to new mothers returning from maternity leave might have something to do with it.
@HMRCcustomers cannot contact HMRC on the phone AGAIN. Have been sent an online letter for simple assessment, they say I owe from 2019!! Link to pay says I'm not allowed to access. I have spent hours on the phone now, they just don't answer
@HMRCcustomers When I managed to speak to an advisor last week my letter said I owed one amount, the letter online this morning says it is £100 higher.. How can this be?
@stand_for_all That Badenoch, the business secretary, has nothing better to do than attack an actor, who cares about social justice, in a headline article screaming “echo chamber and misogyny” is one of the pettiest things I have ever heard. Please vote her out.
@HMRCcustomers Thank you. Final question, should I be sent a break down of what is being charged so I can check I am not being charged interest for something that wasn't my fault and I didn't know about until 5 years later?
@HMRCcustomers should a request for simple assessment be shown on my online Tax account? I have received a bill for tax owing from 5 years ago. This is the first I have heard. I have been registered online since 2021 and it has never shown on that year before. Is this genuine?
