I read something today that read " When you're not fed love on a silver spoon you learn to lick it off knives" And it made me think how most women, black women in particular are taught to expect the kind of love you lick off a knife. A love that's always associated with struggle.
Women are sharing live locations, checking the backseats of cars, carrying their keys between their knuckles and holding their hands over their drinks.
Men are doing 3 hour podcasts about how unfair it is that women don't smile at them.
"a woman just starts to become unattractive after 25"
you mean... you mean when she finally starts looking like...a woman?! as in not a girl? not a child? like you get that right?
Two things I can’t stand:
- when I bring an issue up and that’s the moment you remember when I did something to you.
- people that cannot take accountability, own up and apologise. They’d rather try to justify and explain their way out of the situation.
I evaluate my behavior every night. I will literally be in the shower like "I didn't like how I responded to that today but tomorrow I will be better".
Also everyone should learn to incorporate giving personal items to the the women in their lives as opposed to household items. You want to gift your dad, you gave him shoes. You want to gift your mum, you gave her oven. That’s totally unfair.
