While I use 2 names (depending on how I feel), I’m afraid to announce my given name from fear of people I know finding out who I am (I’m still publicly in the closet). All of you here can call me Nora
@enkisdfg Firstly, how do you distinguish any biased views in academia? How do you screen those out for a more objective view of the world? Second, I'm sorry the division irritates you, but there's an observable distinction and it explains more than your denial and oversimplification.
@enkisdfg What you claim to be reinventing the bicycle is recontextualizing what we know with newer knowledge. It's the same reason DID replaced MPD. We learned new information that changed our understanding, meaning the terminology needed to be updated.
@enkisdfg There's also the topic of identity. There have been other cultures that applied terms for third and trans genders. This is also part of why it makes more sense as a psychosocial construct rather than some new subculture.
@enkisdfg In other words, because it is impossible to not have politics influence science, and you personally do not believe in the idea of gender being separate from one's sex, regardless of academic consensus, it is essentially left-wing propaganda by default. Is that correct?
