Today marks the 70th anniversary of the 1956 Hungarian Uprising. This event is of great significance also for Switzerland, where it sparked a widespread outpouring of solidarity amongst the population. Switzerland took in approximately 13,000 Hungarian refugees. Their presence helped to forge lasting personal ties between our two countries and strengthened bilateral relations between Hungary and Switzerland 🇭🇺🇨🇭

I welcomed today the Crown Prince of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, on his return visit to Switzerland, following my official visit to 🇰🇼 in February. We discussed how to further strengthen our partnership and expand trade. We identified healthcare, fintech, sustainable agriculture and food security as sectors with considerable potential.
Switzerland Global Enterprise (@SGE) and the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote investment between our two countries.
