But who is the antisemitism charge really leveled at? Palestinian students, SJPs, critics of genocide. It is done intentionally to malign Palestinians. And it’s not one instance, the propaganda is pervasive in movies, tv shows, music and so on.

She is a tool of the establishment- in India and in the US. In India she supports fascist Modi, & in the US, she keeps in line with Hollywood liberals.

Her public positions tend to follow whatever is safest for the global celebrity class at the moment. Posting “All Eyes on Rafah” and signing the ceasefire petition was like the performative the black square people posted on Instagram after George Floyd. Her silence on sooooo many important moments has been really loud.

But with her words too- she berated a Pakistani girl a few years ago, for questioning her position as a UN ambassador & supporting India’s strikes on Pakistan, at a public event. (Props to the girl)

Basically, the pattern is obvious. She aligns with dominant narratives wherever she is- nationalist signaling in India & liberal signaling in the United States.

No doubt Priyanka is a good actor & charming in interviews, and she has built a successful brand of herself because of that.

Don’t expect her to be anything more than that. She has no coherent ideology, intellectual sophistication or moral fiber to understand oppression outside of her simplistic narratives like “India doesn’t start wars.”

Don’t fall for the stunt of calling out Laura Loomer’s racism and Islamophobia at the India Today event. The truth is that Loomer was invited precisely because of her enthusiasm for the US–Israel–India nexus and for the vicious Islamophobia she has never apologized for — and never will.

By the end of the conversation there were smiles and nods. Loomer and Rajdeep Sardesai even had a cordial chat after the panel. Because for large sections of the Indian media, Islamophobia is not a matter of life and death - or it’s a punchline.

Now that she has issued an apology for her anti-Indian comments, she will almost certainly use the moment to launch an even bigger assault on Muslims along with the Hindu right wing.

Also worth noting: check the India Today website. The clip in which Sardesai calls out her Islamophobia has mysteriously disappeared from the video.
