Audiences just went out to see Obsession which was presented in a 1.50:1 aspect ratio and I haven't seen a single complaint about the projection on standard screens. So I doubt audiences would complain about seeing THE ODYSSEY in its 1:43:1 ratio uncropped on a standard screen

Black bars on the sides are not an issue. Just present it as you intended it. Thats like saying you cant fully enjoy Twin Peaks seasons 1 & 2, some of the most beautiful frames of television you will see.
