On Wednesday, March 25, Gov. Larry Hogan and State Superintendent of Education Dr. Karen Salmon announced that all Maryland public schools will remain closed until Friday, April 24.
A letter from CEO Dr. Monica Goldson is forthcoming with more information.
This pandemic has already revealed that:
- schools are so much more than just schools.
- many people now realize how tough it is to be a teacher and that teachers are grossly underpaid.
- teachers are irreplaceable and essential to learning and education.

Free groceries and produce available for residents in need on Tuesdays from 1:00-3:00 pm in parking lot of St. Stephen Baptist Church in Temple Hills. Food will be delivered to your car.
UPDATE! Beginning tomorrow, March 17, 25 schools will now offer breakfast, "grab and go" lunch and a snack on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily during the statewide school closures. Students may pick up all three meals in one visit. Please RT!
State Superintendent of Schools Dr. Karen Salmon announced all Maryland public schools will close Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 27 as part of efforts to slow the spread of COVID-19. More information to come.
