Closing out the session, Sammy Elmariah, MD, FSCAI shares insights from the DETECT AS trial: electronic provider notifications increased AVR rates in severe AS, greatest in >80 yrs (40.7% vs 26%; OR 1.89, p=0.01). No significant difference <65 yrs. Signals improved recognition and treatment in older patients.

Automated alerts can help close treatment gaps in severe AS. Electronic notifications improved AVR rates and recognition of disease in older patients, highlighting a scalable approach to address underdiagnosis.
