One year after groundbreaking, we've reached another milestone 🎉
Concrete pours are officially underway for the foundation of The Peter Gilgan Mississauga Hospital and Shah Family Hospital for Women and Children.
To mark the moment, government, partners, donors and Team THP took part in a ceremonial coin toss—a construction tradition symbolizing good luck and a lasting connection to the future of care being built for our community, now and for generations to come.
Nearly 2 million patient visits. More than 74,000 surgeries. Over 809,000 diagnostic exams.

Two years ago, we broke ground on what will become The Gilgan Family Queensway Health Centre.
With key milestones reached — including the building rising to full height — we’re one step closer to welcoming patients into a modern space designed for rehabilitation and complex continuing care.
We’re grateful to everyone who’s been part of this journey and excited for what’s ahead. 💙🏗️

Today we celebrated the first MRI machine at the Queensway Health Centre. Now up and running, this machine is expanding access and helping reduce wait times for patients across our community.
This state‑of‑the‑art MRI will support approximately 3,000 additional scans this year. Today, we showed upgrades to our Diagnostic Imaging program including AI tools— Qure. ai and Deep Resolve Boost to enhance image quality, speed up scans, and help identify urgent cases sooner—supporting timely, high‑quality care.
Thank you to the Government of Ontario for the support, and joining us to mark this important milestone, and for investing in expanded access and healthier communities.

Thank you to Councillor Dasko for visiting the Trillium HealthWorks Experience Centre and for inviting community members to join. Guests got a firsthand look at the future of care in Mississauga, more connected, patient-centred, and built around the people we serve.
We appreciated the thoughtful conversations about how these new spaces will improve the patient experience, from arrival and parking to emergency care, and how we are incorporating key learnings and clinical expertise into every aspect of the design.
Together, we stepped into the future of care in Mississauga.
