Over the past few days, @HallaTomas, President of Iceland, has been on her first official visit to the Faroe Islands.
Hosted by Prime Minister Beinir Johannesen, the visit included stops in Eysturoy and Klaksvík.

In the margins of the Helsingborg foreign ministers’ meeting, 🇫🇴 FM Nielsen met with @SecGenNATO, followed by talks with Adm. Pierre Vandier, SACT, on the Faroe Islands’ strategic position and closer cooperation to strengthen security and stability in the High North.
At today’s meeting in Helsingborg 🇫🇴 FM Nielsen joined Nordic, Canadian, and U.S. counterparts to discuss security and defence in the High North. The Faroes continue to support @NATO priorities through strengthened surveillance, joint exercises, and increased allied presence.
Pleased to welcome U.S. Ambassador to the Kingdom of Denmark, Kenneth Howery, during his first visit to the islands.
Meetings focused on cooperation, economic opportunities, and the strategic importance of the North Atlantic region.

Born in 1997, Johannesen is the youngest to become Prime Minister in the history of the Faroe Islands.
He is backed by a broad coalition of the People’s Party, Union Party, and Social Democratic Party.
