My thoughts on match, mightnt be popular : 😂 👇
° The pace of the game was like a testimonial.
° We look like we haven't sorted out our defensive issues, 7 goals conceded in 2 games.
° Absolutely glaring we need a 6, Gravenberch is absymal defensively.
° Nyoni already a better 6 than Gravenberch.
° Great finish from Isak but I'm telling you, there will be issues for Iraola with his Isak lack of intensity in the press.
° Endo should not be a defensive option, he wouldn't start for a League 2 side at CB.
° We are so much better when Alisson plays
° Whoever scouted and recommended LFC sign Mamardashvili needs sacking.
° Wirtz showed some brilliant signs massive season incoming.
° Gakpo had a good game, not sure left winger is an absolute priority position.
° Tsimikas was dreadful, don't think he is even good enough to be back up now.
° Camara was really impressive.
° Koumas might have done enough in pre season to get himself a loan move to a lower PL side.
° McConnell is not an option for LFC first team this season, needs a loan move to the Championship.
° Szoboszlai was poor.
° We need to move on Elliott if we get 20 million plus offer.
° Ndukwe was impressive, we were lot worse defensively when he came off
° Ngumoha is not half as effective on the RW, I still think we need a Salah replacement.
🇫🇷 Ismaëlo Ganiou is not only capable of playing as an RB and as a CB but he’s also very good in his build-up play.
He’s always looking to play vertical balls and is very assured in possession.
It’s why for me he’s the perfect option for Iraola.
Bradley Barcola, as consistently reported months ago, already rejected Mikel Arteta’s North London set-piece dependency project, his dream destination always being England’s crown jewel, Liverpool Football Club, where Anfield was not built from steel and stone but from the blood of legends, where every heartbeat still echoes through generations, where the river carries a red current of history, where destiny is forged beneath the floodlights, and where those who wear the Liver Bird upon their chest become part of football’s most eternal cathedral.
I’m on holiday at the moment but because lots of people have asked me, if the Barcola asking price is accurate I’d rather sign two wingers/attackers for that price.
Here are my thoughts on the players I’ve been asked about and who could be part of a two for the price of one:
- Yankuba Minteh (Big fan, solid carrier/crosser, extremely fast, energetic. Iraola could turn him into a top level RW. Probs my first choice if the price is right.)
- Ibrahim Mbaye (Raw but still so impressive. Can play on either wing. Great right foot. Very fun player. Would love to sign him alongside a more experienced RW.)
- Savinho (Good one vs one player, and is more of a facilitator on the wing which can work well with Isak. But would City sell to Liverpool? Doubt it.)
- Bazoumana Toure (Slightly one dimensional in his ball carrying and end-product. However he’s still really hard to stop at what he does. For €40m he’d be a great addition.)
- Assane Diao (can play RW but also across the front three. He’s got everything to be a top level attacker - injuries are a concern)
- Anis Hadj Moussa (great dribbler and is excellent at cutting in. Can he scale his numbers to the PL? Absolutely. But Liverpool levels? Not 100% certain.)
- Endrick (Thrived on loan at Lyon. He’s got everything to be a star. Prefers to play through the middle rather than RW though)
- Gessime Yassin (So technically gifted, sublime ball manipulation and has a great eye for a pass in the final third. If there’s any chance BlueCo might sell, I’d consider it.)
- Said El Mala (has exclusively played on the left so not sure he can be an RW. Needs to improve his decision making. Can be frustrating player.)
- Jesus Rodriguez (Been great at Como. Excellent creator and a decent one vs one attacker. Gets into the box a LOT. Depends how much Como ask for him - predominantly an LW but I think he could play as an RW).
- Matias Fernandez-Pardo (He can play across the front three. I think he could be platformer really well under Iraola. Bit similar to Semenyo’s profile.)
- Ismaila Sarr (For the right price - which is unlikely - Sarr could be a great player under Iraola because of his vertical running. Quick, smart movement both with the timing of his runs behind defenders and in how he finds space inside the box. Not elite but can be great. Alongside a younger winger he could be an interesting addition.)
