Pleased to announce that I have joined as editor of @SyriaDirect english. I will be working out of Damascus and London. Looking forward to taking this brilliant new site to the next level.

The UN agency and experts say it’s a direct breach of international law.

Another historic milestone in @POTUS’s bold vision to give Syria a chance. Today, @SecRubio formally rescinded Syria’s designation as a State Sponsor of Terrorism — another decisive step in Syria’s remarkable journey from isolation to partnership, and from a source of terrorism to a committed partner in the global fight against it.
For too long, this designation was another wall separating the Syrian people from the investment, enterprise, and opportunity necessary to rebuild their nation. Today, another wall comes down. Capital can replace conflict, enterprise can replace isolation, and commerce can continue to triumph over chaos.
This is not simply the removal of a designation. It is another foundation stone in a new U.S.–Syria relationship built on shared interests, mutual security, and shared prosperity — and another example of @POTUS’s “security first, prosperity next” vision becoming reality.
Promises made. Promises kept. Syria has been given a chance — now the work is to turn that chance into enduring peace and prosperity.

Today, I formally rescinded Syria’s designation as a State Sponsor of Terrorism. This action unlocks new potential for Syria’s economic revitalization and progress. The Trump Administration continues to advance U.S. national security to achieve peace, prosperity, and security in the Middle East.
Odd times. Working class Odd times. Yorkshireman does fighting for Russia. His friend eulogised him by using a refrain said by jihadists and crusaders alike: “Rest in Paradise brother. To die a warrior in a Holy War is to live forever.”

In an address at West Jerusalem’s Gush Katif Museum, Israel’s Chief Rabbi David Yosef denied that Palestinians exist as a people and said they ‘have no rights’.
He also claimed Gaza and occupied West Bank cities for Jews and called for Gaza’s destruction and Jewish settlement.

It makes me sad that people get an impression of the Middle East, as a violent barbaric place, from someone who has likely never been there, and think that it will get eye balls on the article. How many times have we seen these sorts of pictures representing the Middle East?
German investigators are examining Ballout's alleged family ties to Omar Bakri Mohammed, the Aleppo-born founder of al-Muhajiroun, whose movement influenced a generation of European jihadists and fed recruits into Iraq and later Syria. Writes @tamhussein for @SyriaDirect https://t.co/YT5yKKYzaE

I spoke to @tamhussein about what motivates #ISIS’s new recruits, and why some young people continue to be drawn to the group despite its territorial defeat #Syria. @SyriaDirect.
