St. Louis means everything to me.

It’s the city that shaped me, and now I get to share its stories.

To be recognized as the first woman named Missouri Sportscaster of the Year by my peers at @NSMASportsMedia is the honor of a lifetime. It’s something I never could have imagined while walking the halls of Clayton High School.

Getting to cover the hometown teams and people who inspired me growing up has been a privilege.

Thank you to @KMOV for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to do what I love. And thank you to the @Cardinals, @StLouisBlues, @stlCITYsc, @BattlehawksUFL, @SaintLouisMBB, @MizzouFootball, and everyone who welcomed me in and trusted me with their stories.

"A lot of flashbacks are coming out about all the things I went through back home just to reach this level...One interaction can change the way a kid sees things, that's what happened to me at a young age."

Iván Herrera has been named to his first National League All-Star Team. An emotional dream come true not only for him, but for his home country of Panama.

Herrera shares a flashback on how meeting Hall of Famer Mariano Rivera as a child showed him that his dreams were possible.
