On this day in 1922, following their response to a local restaurant for a disturbance, Officer Henry Lett and his partner attempted to make contact with the suspect, when the suspect fled into an alley. During the pursuit, both the suspect and Officer Lett reached for their guns and fired two rounds at each other. Unfortunately, Officer Lett was struck and died later that night.

Officer Lett, your service will never be forgotten. We honor you today and always.

This driver learned the hard way. Going 110 MPH in a posted 70 MPH zone resulted in a court date with a judge.

If you’d rather not see red and blue lights in your rearview mirror, ease off the gas and follow the posted speed limit. Help us keep our roads safe for everyone.

Off our streets and in custody!

On September 15, 2026, members of our Fugitive Apprehension Unit (FAU), U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, Florida Department of Corrections, and HCSO-Gang Unit arrested 19-year-old Brian Hickman in connection with a Home Invasion Robbery that occurred in May 2026.

In addition to charges for violating his probation in an unrelated investigation, Hickman now faces two felony charges, including Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon and Robbery with a Firearm.

Parents and guardians, know what your child is bringing to school.

Today, officers arrested a 15-year-old high school student who brought a loaded gun to school.

Weapons on campus will NOT be tolerated. Risking the safety of other students, faculty, and staff will result in criminal charges, on or off campus.

We remember the thousands of lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the families, friends, and communities forever changed by that day.

They were grandparents, parents, siblings, friends, coworkers, and neighbors, but most importantly, they were people who were deeply loved and still missed to this day.
