So many teachers message me sharing how they are struggling and breaking down, then I look at their social media and they are happy, positive and optimistic.

Then I looked at my social media and realized I often do the same thing. We have to be more vulnerable publicly.

@CollisonRoberta Set realistic expectations for students. 5 minutes of independent work on work that is achievable for students. Let them know during the timed session they can ask a friend nearest them for help or move on to the next task and return to it later. End session with a review.

@CollisonRoberta Give independent/leveled work. Set a timer to a small increment of time and build upon that each day. Work with a small group or individual(s) and increase rate of positive reinforcement for student behavior throughout time and after.
