Indigenous Peoples protect 80% of global biodiversity & are key to #ClimateAction.
Yet they’re often excluded from decisions & funding affecting their own lands — while facing rising threats from environmental degradation.
Sunday is #IndigenousDay.
So that's a yes, you are against funding to things like the Iron Dome?
Abdul El-Sayed: "I am against it, in large part because I just don't understand why anybody thinks it's the right thing to do to send our tax dollars abroad, to fund foreign militaries when our own kids barely get to go to schools that are functional."
As of now, the number one challenge is Russian strikes. The United States knows exactly what we need and that this is not about something abstract. This is about protecting lives. These are real people, individual lives. Air defense support is needed, and that requires political decisions. In Europe too. In the G7 countries too.
"I was just 13 years old when the United States dropped the first atomic bomb, on my city Hiroshima. I still vividly remember that morning."
Today marks the 81st anniversary of the atomic bombing of the city of Hiroshima, Japan. Setsuko Thurlow was one of the Japanese city's survivors. In 2017 she jointly accepted the Nobel Peace Prize in Oslo on behalf of the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN). During the ceremony, she gave a harrowing and emotional account of the bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima.
Both ICAN and 2024 Nobel Peace Prize laureate Nihon Hidankyo work tirelessly to achieve a world without nuclear weapons.

Former Olympian David Hearn: "I don't think anyone likes being targeted or accused of things they didn't do. It's painful to be talked about, like, I'm some kind of scum or, you know, not a very nice person...Leaders don't do that."
Women’s organizations are indispensable first responders in a crisis.

The Arctic is warming four times faster than anywhere else. Reindeer are starving. Sámi culture is at risk. For decades, Indigenous nations have demanded a real seat at the UN, not NGO status. Their land, culture, and climate are at stake.

If ever there was a moment not to integrate into the U.S. Air Force system, it is now. When your confidence in a country’s friendship begins to slide, it would be irresponsibly naïve to become dependent on it for military spare parts.

Driving the low numbers are the state of the economy and Trump’s handling of the war in Iran, the polls found. https://t.co/sz5uUITLrj
