When you choose to be aggressive with someone, or to "tease" the person a bit meanly, to "mess with" or to otherwise do something unkind to a person, you might not be the only one doing such a thing to the person. . . .

Be an adult (mature psychologically) and use common sense and kindness when interacting with other people. Take responsibility for your actions rather than assuming everything is okay or will be okay just because you want it to be that way.

When you teach someone to be tough emotionally & aggressive (rather than assertive), when you teach a person to put aside empathy & compassion under certain circumstances, you are actually training the person to lose whatever empathy & compassion that he or she might possess.
