This is a great sign, as it shows Tesla will provide major updates to V14 Lite.

We were made aware of an oversight where vehicles on our two-week trial were recording overall FSD usage as intended, but not recording per-drive self-driving metrics.

This has been corrected and drives going forward will include self-driving metrics even while on a trial.

Essentially two reasons.

The AI team (who works on FSD and Robotaxi) is its own team, and the software team (who works on the main infotainment features) work separately and on different branches. Each team is specialized and overlap can mean either focus is diminished.

The other reason is FSD subscribers + Advanced tab = means you want cutting edge builds, which means less "ready for the general owner". You don't want inherent changes to alienate the general owner (which ~85% of vehicles are on Standard).

So its essentially a trade off.

You can either select Advanced and get cutting edge FSD but then delayed production features since it takes a bit for the cutting edge to be ready for merging, OR you can stay on Standard and only get an FSD update once its ready, which can take 1-3 months.
