Skittles was a little skittish. She made me work for this one!
Yup, another early morning cat rescue. I left my house at 4:45am and headed to Brick, NJ with the hopes of being able to perform a successful rescue and make it home in time for my 8 o'clock tree job in Turnersville. Looks like I was 15 minutes late; not bad, my guys were on time and got set up without me.
This was Skittles' 3rd day high up in that oak tree. She was slowly climbing higher, and this morning, after setting my rope, she climbed all the way up to the tips. I was able to grab her because she ran out of tree! She was a sweetie, but didn't want to pose for pictures afterwards. I think she was embarrassed 😹

It's too late, and I'm too tired to be playing games, Nikki! 😹
She's today's 2nd rescue. Apparently I like to start and end my day with cat-in-a-tree rescues now. I simply couldn't say no, especially after learning she had already spent several days in that tree in Newfield, NJ. She's an outside cat, so I'm surprised I was able to get as close as I did. So when she started to bolt, I didn't even have the time to think... I grabbed her right away, no gloves, and Delectables Cat Treats still in hand. She was growling and making all kinds of noises, so I opted to rappel out of the tree as quickly as possible while holding her scruffed. After a quick hand-off to her Mommy, hi and goodbye, she was out... right back home for a quick meal then who knows what kind of trouble she'll get into next 😹.

Early morning cat-in-a-tree rescue in Norristown complete ✅
Kid is the tiniest little non-kitten kitten I've ever rescued. No typo. He's just a baby 😻 but he's actually 3 years old... Luckily he was microchipped. That's how his new mommy got the info, but unfortunately he was abandoned by his old mommy. How could she!? 🙀 Well he wandered into the right yard where he gets all the love and attention he deserves from his new family and neighbors. Hopefully he's done with the adventures in trees, since he was crying for help these last 3 days. Other than him being a little clingy, not wanting to let go of his tree nest and nearby branches, he didn't put up a fight 🫶

With a name like Tupperware, I just knew this was going to be a fun rescue 😹! She was sweet and spicy! 🌶️
As I normally do now, I was up at 4:30 and preparing to leave by 5am for another cat-in-a-tree rescue... but I caught a break today, or so I thought 😹. I was relieved this morning when I received the text explaining that Willow, from Jackson NJ, had climbed most of the way down on her own last night, and was waiting within arms reach from the ladder below... so right back to bed I went 💤❤️
Tupperware's call for help came later, making today the 3rd day in a row for me, for a cat-in-a-tree rescue 🙀
She was in the top of a sweet gum tree in her backyard in Haddon Heights. The local fire department came earlier, but their ladder wasn't tall enough (this time). I heard she had snuck out once before and was rescued by a heroic fireman 🫶. Not sure if it was the same tree, but this time around she was at the top, and I couldn't even safely launch my rope up because there wasn't much tree above her, and too great of a risk of hitting her if I tried for a limb nearby... So I free-climbed this tree, grabbing branches and pulling myself up. I used 2 safety lanyards so I could have one attached at all times in case I slipped.
Tupperware really started to perk up as I got closer. She was moving around, and extending out towards me. She seemed ready to be rescued. But she may have been a little bipolar because every now and then she'd hiss at me and show me her teeth. Gloves on for this one, though she ended up being all talk and didn't put up a fight at all. She's grounded again, back inside where she's safe! 😻

Good people still exist! I'm so proud to be part of such a great community of people who care deeply for animals and their families!
Adriana Powers-Chasse, an officer for Associated Humane Societies Newark reached out for help last night about a cat that had been stuck in a tree in Roselle NJ... Since Rob Gillies, a fellow cat-in-a-tree rescuer, is closer, I provided his contact info and suggested to call him immediately. This wasn't a typical rescue for many reasons. Unfortunately, the cat had been up there long enough that this was an emergency. It was showing signs of exhaustion and dehydration. It was actually twitching it's feet and seemed lethargic. Rob charges a reasonable fee, actually too low - but I'll get into that later, and a portion of the rescue fee was going to be covered by the property occupants... Since this rescue was an emergency and couldn't wait for me to arrive the next morning (and it's really too far for me anyway) I gladly pledged the remainder for Rob to come right away, and he did! 😻
It was a successful rescue, almost completely in the dark last night 🙀 Neighbors, friends, animal advocates and professionals all coming together to help an animal in need! 🫶 The kitty is safely at the shelter and the callers are planning to adopt! 😻
Adriana Powers-Chasse, Associated Humane Societies of Newark, and Rob Gillies went above and beyond to help this cat and certainly deserve our gratitude!! Please consider 'following' them on Facebook and send them a donation if you can. I know first hand what it takes to rescue animals from trees, and that's why I can assure you that Rob's fee is too low. It takes thousands of dollars of equipment to simply climb a tree safely and appropriately, not to mention the countless hours of training, plus equipment inspections and replacements - yes, ropes, harnesses, ascenders, lanyards, carabiners, helmets and PPE have to be inspected and replaced all the time. Rob's fee barely covers his time, let alone equipment upkeep, so please consider donating. Here's his direct Venmo: https://t.co/xQpGKCjjcM

Mocha was way up there in this giant tulip poplar! I drove to Middletown Delaware at 5am this morning to rescue him 🙀. Poor fella spent several nights up in that tree, but he's safe and sound inside now with his loving family 😻 @TeslaTreeSteven

Ready for another cat-in-a-tree rescue video?!
Here's Onyx. I'm just now getting around to editing his rescue video. He's a friendly feral that was stuck in a tree for several days. I rescued him on the rainy morning of March 27th 2026... 1st of 2 rescues that day 🙀

Maeve's not allowed back outside again. She's grounded! 😹😻 She was a sweetie though and practically jumped inside the rescue bag on her own. She was tired, wet, and hungry.
Maeve, located in Haverford PA, was today's 2nd cat-in-a-tree rescue. The first one this morning, Baby Momma, in Dorothy NJ, was a feral cat who just needed some persuasion to exit the tree on her own terms... by taking a leap of faith and running off to her barn! 🙀

Wanna see another cute cat from my second cat-in-a-tree rescue today? 😻 Meet Skye!
She was today's sunset rescue in Moorestown, NJ. Poor girl only spent a day in that tree, but in the direct sun and heat. She was panting when I arrived. Skye was a sweetie, highly food motivated, and ready to be rescued!

Woody was the cutest little kitten... not the most cooperative, but definitely one of the cutest 😹😻
I had to use all my tricks to get this little guy to come to me in that tree. Cat call sounds from Instagram brought him in within arms reach and the Delectable treats kept him distracted and there long enough for me to grab him. He was so teeny tiny! Luckily we only did one tree job today because of the heat, and I was able to help rescue this little guy before most of the traffic out in Wilmington, Delaware.

Meet Nayla! 😻
I drove up to Toms River at 5am this morning to rescue her. After escaping a few days ago she found herself stuck high up in an oak tree in her backyard, and she kept climbing higher 🙀
This morning's rescue was a breeze though. She waited patiently for me to ascend and enjoyed a little treat after I forced some on her by smearing some on her little nose. She wolfed down the rest of the packet, enjoyed some petting, and went into the rescue bag without a fight 🫶

I can't even begin to explain how busy I've been so far this year... with cat rescues, tree work, estimates, and unexpected equipment repairs. Now that we're mostly caught up, I wanted to thank you for your patience with everything and apologize if I forgot to get back to you for an estimate. 🫶
And as promised, here's a long overdue cat-in-a-tree rescue video from where I left off, with Sterling on 3/26/26 in Lansdowne, PA 😻
Stay tuned for more!
This morning's rescue was a wild one! 🦝🫶
My heart is so happy that I was able to free this baby raccoon's little leg. He was stuck after he somehow wedged his leg down into this crevasse high up in this poplar tree.
The property owners reached out for help last night after giving this poor little guy 24 hours to try to free himself. I raced over to Hockessin Delaware at sunrise today. He seems all good now, but they have a wildlife rehabilitator coming later to take him in for care.
I can't wait to post the rescue video!!

I'm looking for help with a project that is currently one of a kind. I'd like to power my wood chipper with an electric motor and batteries instead of the existing diesel Cummins 4bt. It's a Bandit 1590XP chipper, and I can certainly take care of any custom fabrication and assembly, I'm just not as well versed with all of the electric motor/controller/battery components.
My company, Tesla Tree Service, uses battery electric chainsaws, and pruners. We have North America's first all-battery-electric aerial lift, and it's towed (and charged) by our Tesla Cybertruck. A battery electric chipper would be a perfect fit, and couldn't come at a better time - right now - as we're plagued with constant issues with this diesel motor.
If you're interested, please let me know ASAP 🫶
Thanks, and have a great day!

Ben almost used up one of his nine lives yesterday! 🙀
It was so windy, and he was all the way out on the tips of this cherry tree. I had to use a high tie-in in the middle of the tree to help take my weight, otherwise the limb that he was on definitely wouldn't have supported both of us. It's hard to explain the dynamic forces in play and how careful each step of the climb needs to be to maintain a reasonable safety margin... I used a lanyard around Ben's limb to support it, thru me and my harness, and my lifeline up in a separate part of the tree. I was able to carefully make my way out closer to him by re-tensioning my lifeline with almost every step.
Ben was so cute and cuddly, but he definitely made this rescue harder than it had to be. 😹 He wouldn't budge an inch. I fed him a Delectable and could pet his head and cute little face, but I couldn't get close enough to scruff him. Eventually the wind picked up again and Ben held on tighter. He lowered his head for a moment as he bear-hugged his branch, and that was my opportunity. I stretched out as far as I could, reaching back behind his head; as soon as I felt enough skin to grab, I scruffed him and pulled him into my arms. He cuddled onto my chest and arms as we swayed in the wind, holding each other while catching my breath and waiting for my heart rate to lower. After a moment of bonding, he thankfully entered the rescue bag with almost no resistance, and I couldn't have been happier to rappel out of that tree 🫶

Meet Booters! 😻 I promise you she's a sweetheart and just has a crazy evil looking face, but means no harm 😈😹🫶
She was today's 2nd rescue. Booters snuck outside and found herself stuck in a tree in her new backyard. Normally, strangers can't get close, but I think she has a thing for a certain cat-in-a-tree rescuer 😽. She was ready to be rescued, and even let me pet her again afterwards 🐈⬛😻

Meet Lil Baby! 😻 She spent several nights stuck at the very top of this tree, waiting to be rescued. 😿 Her cooperation was amazing and helped keep a fairly difficult rescue in check. I had to set my rope in a nearby tree and pull myself in towards her. The limbs she was in were too small to be trusted with my lifeline. Both trees were swaying in the wind the whole time, but she held on and waited patiently for me. I offered her a treat, which she gladly accepted, and once I was close enough, I carefully grabbed her and held on to her, comforting her before placing her securely in the rescue bag for the way down. I can't wait to share her rescue video (and all the others) as soon as I have time to edit them!

Hey Baybay! 😻 Another successful rescue! 🫶
Poor Baybay spent 4 days stuck in that dead mulberry tree. The local fire department tried to help, but they couldn't reach her. She was so hungry, and wasted no time devouring the treat I brought her. What a little sweetie! She was so calm and gentle, during the rescue and afterwards.

I'd like to introduce you to "Tiny Tim" 😻🐈⬛🫶
He was this morning's cat-in-a-tree rescue in Philly, near Parkside Drive in Fairmount Park. This little kitten is not microchipped and we don't know if he has a home nearby, so please share to help find his family!! He's the most sweetest cat I've ever met. While driving him back to the mailman's home, "Tiny Tim" was making biscuits on my belly the entire time. He was so loving and affectionate. The local mailman noticed him and reached out for help... He's going to look after him for the next few days until we can locate his family, but he's already won over 2 grown men's hearts, so he may have options for new families soon.
