@simonlongtester Really interesting blog Simon and very honest! Do you think it will change your approach to coaching when you switch back? Do you think you will coach differently now as you have more of an idea of the approaches, methods and tools your team use?
Any testers in the NW looking for a new challenge? (Permanent role). I’m looking for someone to join my team at MAG. If you aren’t looking but know someone who may be then feel free to share. https://t.co/JzPPEfdKeo
Any companies or recruiters on the look out currently for Programme Managers or Senior IT management people, give Sarah a shout. Brilliant CV, and more importantly a fantastic person.
@richardajkeys It didn’t actually touch his hand or arm you fucking imbecile. That’s kinda a prerequisite of giving a hand ball you brain dead, hairy handed letch.
@docjamesw Brilliant to see you in action for the first time live tonight. Every bit as thought provoking, engaging and entertaining as I’d expected.
Thanks to @LplTesterGather@villabone@DuncNisbet and Chris for organising, hope the beer is flowing!
Final shout for this, I make no apologies for posting again. So proud of my 9 yr old, if anyone can share, publicise or donate he would be very grateful. 10k, nightime walk tomorrow for Shelter: https://t.co/selCKIssOH
@ministryoftest It takes care of the mundane, the repeatables and the must checks. It can verify high level quality early, and it frees up testers to apply a tester mindset knowing that the basics are in place and they can explore.
@Baddiel Thanks David, thats the closest I’ve seen anyone get to actually trying to quantify the reasons Corbyn gets this label despite no overt evidence of specific incidents. I’m really glad you tweeted that.
@tottinge My ideal stand up process: Keep it in the diary, only have it if someone requests it. Maybe an SM worried about progress/board cadance, a dev who wants to rework a piece of work, a tester with a discussion around a flow, etc. But only if its required.
@tottinge We don’t need to discuss every status, as we trust our team we don’t need them to report daily workload, and as analysts don’t directly impact the stories in play (unless sought) then they don’t need to update either. Scrum Masters should be across progress at all times
@tottinge The only relevant tickets are those in play, if a team member has something to discuss around a story in play and they have waited till a pre-determind time the next day to address it, they are being neglectful in the extreme
@tottinge I agree fully with your view. When I did my Scrum certification my tutor said nobody cares about the 3 questions, the stand up needs only to be ‘what did we f*** up yesterday, how do we sort it today’. Most places end up overdoing it and it becomes a ‘state of the nation’
